Regional windsurfing shop has a SS HG to Phantasm adapter @$147usd. Factoring in Al, standard width HG mast. Waste of money to try out Phantasm foil wing/stab/fuse on a HG mast? Considering the overall flex and flex profile of aluminum vs. CF. The butt interface attachment of the mast to the adapter. Wondering if just more of a "marketing gimmick" to promote sales of Phantasm wings? And when you find out your HG aluminum mast is an issue you need to purchase the CF wide mast. Money spent on the wing. Upgrade to Phantasm mast out of necessity.
Board is deep Tuttle only. If going Phantasm would also need an adapter at that end. Starting to think. Maybe time to consider just the deep tuttle mounted foil makers.
Any real world experiences with this adapter?
That adapter is also on the normal (non wide) AL masts. I use a normal 72cm and 103w with phantasm, non carbon and I'm 200lbs. HG i used 85cm al.
Only gripe I have currently is the stock bolts from mast to adapter on phantasm are Ti and I would prefer stainless
I ordered the HG mast to Phantasm fuse adapter while waiting for my 103WC mast. I also wanted a comparison between the 92HG and 103W masts. Pretty huge difference between the two IMO.

I am moving from HG 71 & 90cm to Phantasm W103 v2 for wind foil.
For shallow water, will the 72cm carbon v1.1 be a good match for wind foiling?
My 90cm aluminum flexed quite a bit under load. I don't recall noticing the any flex on the 71 cm aluminum HG so it is likely a solid upgrade. Any experience to share is appreciated.
