I've foiled my new PTM899 three times in the last week. Don't tell my wife, it's meant to be a Christmas present! My other current foils are the PTM926 and Sabfoil WO940.

The PTM899 is a new offering from Slingshot, replacing the PTM930.

It's specs are:
Span 899 mm
Area 925 mm2
AR 8.1

First impressions after the three sessions, all on the Predator 110 and PS340 stab. I'm 85kg
- Session 1: 15 to 20kts, 1.5m swell, 4m sail, -1 deg shim. It took a while to get a balanced ride, but felt good when I did. I was a bit tentative so didn't really explore the foils potential
- Session 2: 12 to 15kts, 1m swell, 5m sail, no shim. Immediately felt great, turned on a dime, amazing glide and low end lift. Really loose but good control on the waves, about 1kt faster than my Sabfoil WO940
- Session 3: 13 to 16kts, 1m swell, 5m sail, -0.5 deg shim. The increased front foot pressure took a few runs to get used to. Feeling more confident, I was able to lean harder in my turns off the top of the wave and down the face in control.

This foil is a keeper. Pumps up easily in 12 kts. Turns well and responsive in the Waves. Amazing glide and low end lift but with great high end control. I expect I will use in 12 to 20+ kts. I'm looking forward to further exploring it's boundaries.

Looks nice. Would like to see a comparison with the new SAB 869

Yep, a totally awesome foil. I am pairing it with the ps360 stabilizer. Fast, loose, and still quite able to slow down and stay in the pocket while riding swell. Riding it definitely puts a smile on your face.

In my opinion I think you are going the wrong direction with the shim. This foil thrives in a low drag setup. The ps 360 is a -2degree stabilizer. The closest you can get to this is with a ps400, which is a -3degree stab, is with a +1 shim. If you want more front foot pressure, slide the mast base back or the foil forward. The lower stab angle will give you more consistent front foot pressure over the very wide speed range this foil has. Give it a try!

You are correct. I wrote to Slingshot Support and they confirmed your advice. I replaced the -0.5 with a +1mm shim. Slid the foil mast forward 40mm. Definitely less drag and felt great on all points of sail. I reckon I could go even to +1.5mm. Thanks for your help.
