Day 2.
Light winds today. Headed out on the barge in hope of the forecast wind coming I but it was not to be. We hung out on the barge, talked gear on the beach and after a few relaxing hours headed back in.
Was a good say for some photos. Lots of wildlife around. There is a huge turtle popping his head up and plenty of fish jumping. Got visited by a pod of dolphins today as well.
Tomorrow we kick off the course racing in the morning with the Qld state one design titles.
Speed sailing in the afternoon with briefing at 11am.
Day 3.

Day 3.5
I think there are a lot of sore bodies tonight. Speed course opened around 12.30 with a good 20knots coming through. We managed to find a fairly long run, 2km I guess. Finished the day with a bbq as the sun went down. Tomorrow looks to be a repeat. Fingers crossed.
Course racing briefing at 7.30 am.
Speed course briefing at 11am

Yeah it was bumpy out in the channel. I was surprised to see my fin like this after sailing. It is a really tight fit and I screwed it in hard. Somehow my rear fin bolt came loose and completely disappeared? Even without the bolt in I was surprised it dropped down as it's forced in. Can only think I must have hit some chop pretty hard.
Thanks for a great day and nice photos Justin
thanks for the photo comments guys.
hey Justin, loose fin may be your new secret weapon. your 1hr from yesterday was very tidy.
will be getting the raceboards back on the water in an hour.
a quick photo from yesterdays start line.
Finished off another 4 course races today. Then the wind backed off so we decided to call freesailing this afternoon.
Tonight is the Windfest Party and prize ceremony. everything is ready to go including the board giveaway from wind and surf and the sail giveaway from hot sails maui - Australia. We also have some booms and other gear to giveaway thanks to the combined efforts of all of our sponsors.
tomorrow is a fun day. starting off around 9.30 with a longboard slalom course.
Wind permitting we'll get the slalom boards onto the slalom course with a beach start and fingers crossed jump into the northern run for some afternoon fun.
Looking forward to tonight's party.
Some more photos from this morning on the race course.
Thanks for a great time guys, another successful comp.

Justin,
Thanks once again - had a blast and got to sail as well . Whilst my feet are cut up and my old body is weary I can't wait for next year. Don't think I'll walk to the Bowls club again though!
cheers sausage and great photos greeny!
so here is the wrap for windfest party.
food was amazing. thanks to Gayle and Theresa for the salads and cake. we also had rib fillets, sausages and chicken breast on the bbq. a new hit this year were the vegemite and cheese sausages.
presentation flowed along with the drinks. we try to include everyone with lots of giveaways and prizes. I will do a full wrap up tonight with full results and thankyou words. So for now congrats to everyone and especially the lucky prize winners.
Vando - successfully taking home the Hot Sails GPS sail kindly donated by Hot Sails Maui Australia.

it was a really fun night at Burrum Sands that continued on into the late morning hours.
we woke this morning to calm conditions and called a lay day which wraps up the 2015 event very nicely.
Great shots again Justin, and thankyou for a really great contest I think everybody had a good time and should be very happy with the wind we got, it made for some very hard sailing and brought out the best in as all, Burrum turned it on again, looking forward to next year I wiil be there, thankyou again.
cheers Geoff. love this place and thanks for coming again mate.
sitting here talking with kellie and like a switch the wind has just come in. 15 knot easterly blowing across the flats. maybe a bit more out wide because the northern run looks great with white caps along it.
Thanks Justin and everyone for a top time at Burrum. Great to see familiar faces and new ppl too! Cheers :)
