Hey Shredders,
I just bought this machine that lets me convert VHS movies into digital format. I have a YouTube channel with a playlist of Classic WindSurf Movies.
www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLc8WzuqDoCxECv-8Fa0QJFK9sOpJvwsvx
if you have any windsurf VHS movies & they aren't on YouTube I'd love to digitise them for you. If you can send the VHS to me I'll send them back to you after a few days after I've done the work.
Send me a PM if you can send me your videoS I'd really appreciate it!!
Cheers, Paul
I've been looking for one of those machines! Where did you get it please?
Hey Plainview,
If you have a VHS player (Japanese) with RCA cable outputs then you need this.
www.cablechick.com.au/cables/avencore-component-video-audio-to-hdmi-converter.html
If you have a VHS play with the SCART output (Euro VHS players) then you need this.

You'll also need the corresponding cables to plug things in depending on what set up you have.
I digitised a whole bunch about 10 years ago... I'll see what's not already on YouTube and will upload any that are not there... From memory it include a Gaastra promo video, Tiga promo, Several Neil Pryde promos as well as some random crap taped from German TV.

Nice one!
Just one question,
what's a VHS machine ??
Its one of those ancient recording things, that were around before everyone had phones and wanted to take selfies of themselves to show others what a great time they looked like they were having.
I agree, things have improved a lot haven't they?
I think it was even before 'influencers' so we had to make up our own minds and do decisions and all sorts of stuff.
Thankfully it was also the time before women had lips like sausages.

The olden day times sound horrible,
respect to those that suffered through them and some how survived.

The early evolution of windsurfing was heaps more exciting than that of kiting. They were good old days
These are available...
Sick one Jase!!! You've got Double or Nothing!!! One of my fav movies. Can I get them off you mate?

Not only did we survive but we made is so cushy for the sooks that followed. The me generation came along and assumed it was always that easy and that someone invented the computer for them.
I can't quite recall what they invented for themselves, but surely there will be something? Selfies? Nah, they were already around... so nothing?
I've only got 're tuned best of the pwa 1996', a giveaway from Boards mag in the UK. But I just found it here
so sorry can't contribute, but very happy to see Rigmarole on your list, it was probably my 1st exposure to windsurfing on the TV.

Nothing but a lot of wind.
What ? We invented corona virus that has given us all a 4 month holiday funded by the government
Life is good and easy for us, thank you for your inventions.
Wait..... what was it you invented FN ?
Surely if life was hard back then and us sooks have got it soooo easy, then these must be the good old (modern) days.
Life is good now, enjoy it today, not dwell on back in the hard days. You seem to be loving the modern social media foruming

What did I invent? I invented the computer. Look it up on your ipad. (I didn't invent that one though as it was just an evolution of ideas)
I also invented news groups and the internet.

What was the movie shot in WA in the late 80's? Only interested to see it as I make a 0.5 second cameo.

Summers a Breeze by Ray Schwartz starring Josh Adams and Dave Sheen and others. Used to be on you tube but got taken down with lots of other films including Dave Ezzy's North tuning video from 1989 with Dave Kalama and Dave Sheen.
I would suggest contact these people if you want a copy, it cost a lot to make and it is a great work, respect the creators and their rights in the artistic work:

Anyway here is an excerpt including the great Josh Adams (KA 8)....a truly fantastic sailor, kind of Australia's Mark Angulo, although a different temperament. He is riding MD boards. Someone who knows, said he painted his Neil Pryde sails as he did not like the colours, much to the annoyance of the sail sponsor:
Thanks Richard, I will contact them.
I still have a couple of North Ezzys sitting in my front room. Great fluro colours.
Josh was probably the best port tack sailor at Long Reef (NE wind) back in the day. Fast, smooth and went hard. Still see him occasionally but unfortunately he got caught up in the wrong stuff.
I've got around 50 old videos if there's a certain one you're after let me know.
Cheers mate!
Any chance you could take a photo of your collection?
