Cool project. The fixed fin would be an issue for me; even a daggerboard could make it much easier to get back downwind if the breeze picks up, which is a major problem for the Serenity.

This is Very interesting. Would like to see it in action
I Windsurf and Sea kayak with a sail.
I would be concerned with the fixed Daggerboard also, as it will most likely cause problems from reaching to downwind angles.
Sea kayaks are only stable when your butt is on the floor. Try standing on one and you will find yourself swimming .
I think balance will be a major issue, I guess the Middle fin will help somewhat with this

Why did they do that silly fixed dagger on the Serenity anyhow? Surely not to save a little on the RRP.

No idea, but it made going downwind at planing speed really hard.

I have more than half a mind that people are not willing to re-do established designs because windsurfing is so fashion-conscious, and there is a belief that marketing campaigns can change the laws of physics.
