This was posted in the Qld section, but equally applies nationwide...
Have the update on Green Island, its absolutely all GO, June 16th - 20th.
Website has been updated, http://www.fw-australia.com/greenisland/event-info-2/registration/
Organisers are aiming for at least 3-4 Free race sessions during the week, so if your not into the Slalom racing there will be plenty of Freeraces also, plus you can just 'freesail' at your own will in between events.
Participants numbers are quite good already with people coming form all over Australia, but there is room for more!
Qantas have some good flight deals on currently. I know it sounds cliche but the water is so clear, warm, and its BLg%^! windy most of the time, flat to moderate small chop, and sheltered areas for non sailors.
A lot goes on to make these things happen, especially in harder to access areas like this...use this thread to chat about arrangements etc if your heading up, could be some options for 'shared' accommodation etc to lower costs etc.
Cheap airfares for cairns on sale tonight!
Jet star and Qantas , be aware Jetstar has 1.9m baggage length. So you need a plan b for gear with them.
Anyone that. Books tickets for the event is guaranteed entry to the event ,
Early bird entry fees will be $250 and the online entry will be available in a week or so.
Entry fees cover your boat rides each day!
Just a reminder also check the GI website about gear restrictions for the event,.
Please don't miss the ## New website address URL update for 2014 at www.greenislandnats.org ##
Online regn will open ASAP (eta 3 May) directly after FW Worlds and you can guess the rest..
Meantime; Anyone making confirmed bookings for airfare etc PRIOR to online regn /entry being available will be guaranteed a slot
(ie : don't fail to take advantage of any airfare offers if you are waiting for online reg or a confirmed registration)
If you commit, so will we. Anyone who's played before knows we do it right.
Definitely worth the effort if you haven't been before and its a great winter getaway.
I think everyone had a great time last year.

Well run event...just turn up and sail.
Fantastic time of the year...Middle of winter here, peak season up there,

Al Bentley:: 2013 Australian Freestyle Champion. Back again in 2014 to defend his title courtesy of Qantas.
We've got 5 kids here in NSW, between the ages of 9 and 13, (and hopefully a few more by next year) who are dreaming of going to Green Island. It doesn't look like we can make it this year but now that it's an annual event, we can plan for it to happen soon. Just wondering if you can tell us if they will be catered for in their own age divisions (subject to there being enough for each division of course). It's looking so good (especially now that the water is cold and everyone has the flu here ). Please post lots of updates and photos so that they can follow the action. We hope everyone has a great time!
Will do Akim. Justin is taking a computer up and the forecast looks fantastic. Windy all day every day. Looking to get at least second last. See you at Sanctuary this summer.
