This is a great event organized by the Geraldton Windsurf Club and a few helpers, with more info hidden on the wave forum page on the basis it targeting all kids (under 21), at all skill levels, Iam re posting here.

The 2024 vid has just been released -

Jump onto the Facebook or Instagram page to keep up to date or realize your kids sail better than you do (in my case anyway!!)

What better way to start January than Tribal Cervantes Windsurf Challenge, Wave Rally World Champs and then getting the kids out on the water for the Oceania Youth Wave Titles & Junior Windsurf Camp, rego at:

Coronation Beachwill be the main accommodation base this year. They have opened up some new campsites/Caravan Park (details below) so for those with full camping gear who don't care about showers, we are suggesting you stay there.

Coropark. coropark.com.au/. This is thenew campground at Coronation Beach similar to above with no showers and unpowered sites only. Suitable for those with full camping gear, andadvance bookings ARE possible.

www.chapmanvalley.wa.gov.au/visit-chapman-valley/where-to-stay-and-eat/places-to-stay.aspx. Camping right at Coronation Beach with long drop toiles, no showers and no power. Suitable for those with full camping gear who want to stay right on the beach. Booking in advance is NOT possible, you just get a camping spot if one is available when you turn up.

Other suggested options:
Goodies Eco-Camp. www.goodiesecocamp.com/ Camping near Coronation. Beach with showers, toilets, communal cooking facilities. Suitable for camping and caravans and can be booked in advance.
Sunset Beach Holiday Park. www.sunsetbeachpark.com.au A full caravan park situated closer to Geraldton, right on the beach. Has units available, with fridge, beds, TV, microwave and some with a stovetop. Suits those coming from overseas or interstate without camping gear.

hi Obelix, I think we will try to stay at Coronation Beach or Coropark if we can get a spot and worst case Goodies is easy & close.
This year there is a movie night on the Thursday, to help get the kids socializing and hanging out at Coro's after sailing with the food trucks for dinner.

Latest update from a couple of days ago Get Social at the 2025 Jaffle Shack Oceania Youth Wave Titles & Junior Windsurf Camp - 14-19 January 2025

It's still early days but the forecast is looking great for the Wave Rally and the Oceania competitions in Geraldton. Both events will have loads of sailing and good times, don't miss out!

A few key reminders for the Oceania event. Please register now. This helps us identify the specific skills your kids are wanting to learn and helps us find the right instructors. We have a more structured approach to the camp and coaching this year, but registering early helps us plan it better and align the instructors with the youth needs too.

It's still early days, but there's a chance we may start with the youth wave competition for older divisions on Tuesday 14 January, so please be ready.

Possible competition locations for U15, U18 and U21 are Coronations, The Spot (small swell) & Sunset Beach (bigger swell).
U13 will only be at Coronation Beach. Please encourage as many U13 boys and girls to enter. We are DEFINITELY having an U13 girls division this year and we'd love to see as many kids enter the U13 boys and girls divisions as possible. U13s will be run more as a fun expression session with prizes for effort/determination/fun. We'd love to get all the U13s on the water together, having a blast. As long as you can stand on a board and sail in a straight line on flat water, you'll be perfect! If there's some top performers who can jump or ride waves, we'll hold a proper final for those kids, but the first expression sessions will just be about friends, fun and getting everyone together.

Volunteers welcome! If you're attending the Wave Rally or just wanting to go sailing with a bunch of great people, we'd love you to help with the Oceania camp & comp. You can help to inspire and teach our windsurfing future and then enjoy a windsurf later. Even just two hours of coaching on one day helps us all.

Bring a friend. We've received some awesome grants from DLGSC and City of Greater Geraldton and we can cater for a few more beginners at this year's camp. See if your kids want to bring a friend!

Come to the Jaffle Shack Saturday Night Dinner. The entire windsurf community is welcome at the Jaffle Shack presentation and party night on Saturday 18th January. Come along and meet some old and new crew.

A reminder that you can access youth windsurf gear and regular coaching by joining your local club - Geraldton Windsurfing Club, Perth Metro Juniors or South West Junior Windsurf School. All that incredible gear will be available to demo and use at the Oceania youth camp and comp.

Look forward to seeing you all there.

RegardsEvent Team
