Does it handle 25kn?
Good question, found this.

"She can move upwards of 25 miles an hour while ranging from five feet off the ground to 50 feet off the ground."
Doable if you arent a speed freak??
Interesting concept we'll see how stable and what quality the footage will be. I think this will be ok for quick cut aways and drone selfies. There are some big questions around the camera system though. "Digital Gimbal"? If that was a really good option DJI and 3DR would have done it sometime ago. The best digital image stabilisation today can be found in mobile phones (i.e. iPhone, Galaxy S6) but it can only stabilise so much and never seems to lock as good as gimbal stabilised footage... especially in windy conditions.

No I mean can it fly at all in a 25kn wind.
Not a drone expert but seems none of then handle enough wind to be useful to us?
The bigger ones such as the DJI Phanom 2 / 3 and DJI Inspire have a motorised gimble that stabilises the video camera so you can fly it in wind. I have seen the DJI Phantom 2 being flown in 20knts
I wonder if you can set a minimum hover height to avoid it getting taken out by other sailors.
I think you should be more worried about 27m of kite lines. The follow me thingy is only good for 10.
I predicted this was the next step in drones 12 months ago. Awesome! What Next???
Yep, the pixhawk flight controller from 3d robotics could do this 18 months ago with a Bluetooth receiver and an android phone. These guys made their stuff open source. It's why these developments can happen.
I have it set up on my hexacopter and it works well up to a distance of 10m.
all these guys have done is make a dedicated Bluetooth transmitter (probably can only be paired to the drone you buy, so don't loose it). And use a bigger antenna to slightly increase the range/reliability. As Bluetooth & wi-fi occupy the same frequency (2.4GHz) it is restricted to 2.5 milliwatts to restrict the range.
I'm using a 915mhz telemetry link that gives me up to 2km range (theoretical, confirmend 1km so far) with an android phone which is far more reliable. Bung it in a pelican case and you can do this follow me mode easily out to 100m. A 35m ceiling keeps it away from kite lines!
hexa's are great as if one prop fails, you can still land with a little control. Not go splat!
Brilliant! Much better perspective than go pro.
How much wind it can handle is critical for us of course.
I'd get one if I thought my sailing was good enough to be filmed...

-And make it only $520
-and make it waterproof
-and include a camera
-and make it so any idiot can use it
-and make it portable (cary in a backpack portable)
-and make it not ugly as **
lazy, idea stealing buggers.
It's not waterproof, it's water resistant. No way those motors are sealed against water ingress.
Also, it's a four mode device. Track, circle, loiter & land. The fifth button is the shutter.. If you want to take it down the park and just fly it around, I've got bad news for you (apart from getting fit running around to make it follow you).
I've never seen a product that has gotten so popular so fast, and nobody even has one yet.
On this site you have this thread, and on Shooting the breeze you have "New drone to drool over", and on SUP you have "Throw and shoot camera", all about the same thing.
And the same thing is going on in the U.S., at the Stand up Zone you have "Goodbye soloshot", and "Follow me drone", just for an example, but many of the other water sport sites that I go to have it also.
Amazing.
It better be good.
Oh yeah, I also saw it on the news this morning on TV.
In Belgium Lily made it to the Late Night news on national T.V. !!!!
The showed the int. video ...
And drones are not legal in Belgium ...
these guys had a crowd funder going last year..same thing just not as fancy looking.
This will make a lot of money!! Check out how much GOPro owner is worth and this Lily is much better. I would love to order it but only thing is when it comes in Feb there could be something better and cheaper as is always the case with tech.

IP67 (Protected against the effect of immersion between 15cm and 1m) - pretty waterproof for a drone, its not supposed to be a submarine.
Whats your beef with this thing? Jealous you didnt come up with it? Suck it up princess.
And who wants to go to the park and fly this round? its a camera that flys around and follows you filming all the cool stuff you do!
That's fully sick bro.
Maybe you could get one to film you flying your pixhawk down the park!
Brilliant! Much better perspective than go pro.

Ah, there's still good entertainment value in the crashes

No, the motors don't need to be, in fact they need airflow to stay cool. We just seal the electronics on our RC gear, and hose the salt water out of the motors when we get home.
