Great stuff!
It looks like Phil although the locals could confirm that ...
Looks like fun and a top spot!
Even if I was sailing fit I think it would kill me trying to sail there..
Yes that is Phil at SWR......I should point out that Phil has only been sailing for 3 or 4 seasons too......great spot, and a great sailor!
Phil is away camping at the moment but he asked that I pass on my thanks to Tom for posting the prime footage of his local. Nice one Tom, ta!!!!!
Holy ****e, how impressive ! B&J your hearts content or run down the troughs for speed runs. Some great gybes there Phil !
Best video I've seen in years. Honestly.
Shame that waves and glinting sunlight are probably the hardest thing on earth to compress video for neatly; anyone know how to do it? Seems impossible.
This angle is fully the bomb. 10/10.
There's an actual word for it but you feel like you are the sailor. Kenosomething.
I've got this on repeat.
So that's a NE'r from the Trial Bay Gaol Campground ...wait, what? What sort of a camp ground is that? Gaol?
Its an awesome place to sail and also works in other directions. Had a couple of great southerlies there which are offshoreish from the gaol but great flattish water. A few sun downers watching the baby hammerheads swim past is fun
Phil has the place wired!!
Hi Guys,
I shot and edited the footage...stoked you guys like it! Am bummed at the loss of quality on YouTube...on my computer the quality of the original file looks amazing. I'll start a Vimeo account and upload it there and see if it looks better. I'll post it when it's done.
Happy sailing.....cheers, Paul

Thanks so much for the video Paul. Made my day seeing such great shots of Trial Bay when I am stuck in England. I reckon a video account is the way to go. Looking forward to your next vid

Great footage. What's the maximum wind strength your drone can handle? What was the wind strength in the vid?
Looks like Phil may have more company over the summer after this video!
Nice Work Paul!!!!
Cheers mate!

Good question OW.... it can fly at 38knots and I think I will limit it to max 25knots so I can still fly it 13knots upwind. The wind in the video here was gusting to about 20 knots and the drone handled it like a champ.
Just looked into Vimeo.... you need to pay now.... does anyone have any advice on how I can upload videos onto Youtube and maintain top quality? I wish you guys could see the video on my computer...it's super sharp but YouTube makes the video blurry in places. Any help much appreciated!

Cheers windsurftom.... glad you liked it... The drone is great for windsurfing.... the risk of crashing $2000 of drone coupled with getting cool shots makes flying the thing a buzz.... I could shot windsurfing footage all day!
Paul re video upload quality, I'm not sure of my settings as I'm away from from my laptop, but then I have to knock my size down because of limited data & speed Anyway I had a look on YouTube and found this support.google.com/youtube/answer/1722171?hl=en hope it helps mate and I/we look forward to some more videos

Thanks for the link firiebob.... I'll try and match the requirements as close as I can and see if makes any difference for the next video.
Awesome footage Paul. Can't thank you enough for showcasing the place. Drone footage of windsurfing is just amazing. Phil has been trying to attract people to come sail with him for some time now. He made a thread on it here for those that want more info: www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/Windsurfing/New-South-Wales/Windsurfing-South-West-Rocks/#1558617
Sadly I don't have the time to be there as much as I'd like these days. You should all put it on your wish list at some stage.
Cheers
Marty

Happy you liked it MartinF2! Tomorrow looks to be good conditions for Gerroa... I'll try and get down there to film.
Finally got to see this awesome footage on something bigger than a phone- stokkkked! That's some top imagery there Paul, you certainly know what you are doing with that drone! You made SWR's look even more amazing, so cheers heaps for taking the time to film, edit and publish this great footage. Thanks mate!
Next time you're up, let me know, and come out for a sail with us.
PS- If you filmed me two days earlier you would have got some insane footage as I crashed on top a 15 meter whale. Freakiest, more amazing thing I've ever been part off.
Cheers,
Phil
RE the video compression, again.
It looks a little funny on the PC, but it looks fantastic/perfect on the TV. I'm guessing the TV is 1920 x 1080 and so is the video, and that's why it looks perfect, while my monitor is larger and is hard to set the video to an actual 1920 x 1080.
Again, looks fully sick bro.

Stick with the specs linked by firiebob to get the best quality outcome. We will then create individual videos for each quality level based on your uploaded file. With 2160p, that means we are creating 8 videos from your upload. Having said that the codec will make sure that data load still remains as little as possible, hence a potential quality loss.

Nice mate.... I thoroughly enjoyed getting the footage... something you can show the grandkids!
Next time I'm up your way might see you out there that would be sweet.
That's amazing story with the whale....If I had filmed you hitting that whale we would be at a million hits no worries!
ha ha.....cheers mate
