JUST had a bit of chop jumping the other day ,a lady sent them to me ,7,0 cheetah 125 tabou rocket .
THIS ONE BLOODY HURT .. i didn't un hook in time .glad she took this one ,to show my stupidity
I WENT IN and changed to smaller gear ,I'M not a looper or anything ,just a jumper ,anyway just thought I'd share my stokes .
I now relies small boards are a lot safer to jump
I try with my 125 Rocket. Landings are not pretty.
Took it out in 20 knots and 5-6 foot surf at Coffs Last Xmas, fun!!!!!
Of course u can , I scare myself on a 160 , just don't land flat . I extend legs before landing , it's not so bad .
Then again my air is not that airy
that looks more like a wheel stand Ausmoz.. .race sails make great sounds on landings
Imax .160 litres ..ankle breakers.

I pretty much totalled my 133 gecko doing this sort of thing... Bad, bad, flat landing... Note to self, only jump smaller gear
You can jump anything, 12' Raceboards to Formula 175's, but it's the bad landings that hurt you or the board. Inertia and surface area are not friends when coming down.
Big slalom boards can jump the highest.

Yeehaa!!! Airtime. Have chop hopped my Speed RBs. About 6" under the nose n fin well clear. Jumped my AHD 149 recently 57cm fin clear of water. Landed slightly crossed up but stuck it. No pic though. I worry about landing sideways n snapping fin. Good to get action pics Tardy.
My fox140 got about 10foot out of the water today, shame I wasn't still attached to it.
It still counts!
Ha too funny Ben 1973,yes it still counts ..
i forgot about naish looping that longboard, man you won't want to blow it ,imagine landing nose first still in the straps ..he's a pro .
oldskool we need a photo of you jumping your long board.
nice photo Paducah
Tardy, where are those pics taken and what direction was the wind?
That jetty in the background reminds me of somewhere a long way from NSW.
I haven't chop hopped since I got slalom boards as i was worried they were too fragile.. I imagine it will be so much easier to get airborne as they are so much faster than waveboards..
I'll have to conquer my fears and have go. I'm worried I'll be separated from the kit and have to swim for it..That would kill me and I doubt I'd catch it.. and there are sharkies in the lake..
NAH ,they won't break ...
the only board i have broken jumping was a F2 104 ride.
it was funny really i landed ,heard a big bang ,and the mast and sail ,sailed away with my hands ,and my feet stayed behind strapped in ,my mate was on the beach pissing himself .
loved that board .
it had no carbon in it .one of those plastic moulded bottom boards F2 pumped out .
