Our local paper has agreed to run a series of stories to help promote windsurfing and draw attention to the proposed KA Sails Burrum Heads Wind & Surf Speed Challenge.
The first story is focused on local Burrum Heads sailor Geoff Ringe. The reporter seems to have linked GPS speedsailing to property investment to make the front page.
"Consistent 20-25 knot winds"!!!
C'mon you Banana Benders, no excuses now!!
And yes. We regularly loose people to Hypothermia down here. Stay away! It is very, very dangerous!
Hey might not be entirely accurate but it greatly promotes WS and speedsailing, and shows good benefits for the community - well done. Just got to get the event up and as many sailors there as possible - got to be good for the whole GTC community as a result.
nice one knot board,
i was going to see if geoff had any spare copies around.
The KA Sail Caloundra Wind & Surf Speed Challenge is looking good.
the sponsors so far are
KA Sail
Caloundra Wind & Surf
Sunshine Coast Sailboards
Lorch Boards
NXS
one or 2 more are also most likely joining in as well.
Hi Knot board,
Where are you located? I'm Hervey Bay, and saw the same article in the Hervey Bay Chronicle, thus my reason to do a search on this in the web. Is the sailing anywhere along Burrum Heads? I have a new Aerotech VMG 6.7m sail I'd love to try on my Slalom board there. Any idea what the best wind is???
Fanatic, just rock on up anytime if the winds up in HBay it's the same in Burrum but more consistent, particularly southerly.
Half to low tide rig up at boat ramp,
and half to High tide rigup a couple of streets south (Dudley st),
Sailed there 3 times this week.
Burrum Crew,
Sorry Fanatic I never got your message.
I have changed jobs and phone numbers recently.
New mobile number is 0429 349 801.

Porkchop, Ducati, Geoff, Vando, Nerdburger, et al please note my new number.
I've been off the water a long time, Mrs KnotBoard spent Easter in Hospital.
This weekend I may be able to compete on Sunday, but Monday we are back to hospital.
Also, I have damaged the fin box on my F2 so if anyone has a spare board for this weekend I'd be your best mate if I could borrow it.
Cheers, Scott.
hi Scott,
I hope the Misses is good.
i got you covered for the gear. there will be lorch and NXS speed boards on the beach for demo as well as some Koncepts etc for sails.
should have some nice fins for the boards too.
cheers
If only someone would put a bridge across the Burruim River. On the other hand if you go out past the last red at Burrum I think it is the best wave sailing in the area as the water goes from 20mt to about 4mt on the egde of the shelf (not the "Continential" but still a shelf). I've got a litle lazy of late so prefer to blast around on the flat with an electronic box strapped to my arm. See you all there on Sunday early can't wait. WINDY & FLAT!!!!! Pork Chop.
