Talking to a friend just recently about about paddling and was told of a new rowing venue called Champion Lakes. She stated that she had paddled there and complained that the easterly was ripping across the lake. Not being a windsurfer, she could quite understand what the relevance of my wind angle, access, depth of water and wind obstruction lines of questioning were about. Has anyone attempted to sail on this rowing course. Apparently it is about a kilometer long and 100 or so metres wide. Have seen some pictures of it on the web but cannot figure out its orientation. With strong easterlies forecast this weekend was thinking about a taking a drive and having a look.
The wind inland is not as strong as you'd think. For non-windurfers even 10 knots is too windy.
I've heard it's very gusty and there are buoys every 10 metres for the rowing lanes.
