Still computing this stuff manually.

The Division 1 results is where I will post general info on the competition. Specifics for each division will appear in that Division's post.

Generally, January favours the southernmost teams, with many northern hemisphere teams failing to post any times at all. I am posting this provisional result today, because the month does not officially close until a week into the next month.

I've made a unilateral decision, given that there are already some new teams in the comp, to demote the bottom three teams in each division at the end of June, and only promote the top two teams. This will result in enough teams to create a new Division 6, comprising new teams and the bottom three teams of Division 5.

These results are provisional, and subject to change as last minute sessions are posted for January.

Division 1 Specifics:
Big surprise out of the gate is that the Wad1Team from the Netherlands is holding joint 3rd place. The other NL teams are well down the ladder with conditions not the best on the ground.

The top team in Division 1 this month is the Tassie Speed Seekers, seeded eighth in the competition. Only one team failed to post any sessions, the JP/NP Mob, who are top seeded, so have nothing to fear really.

(Seeding)Team Name - Position in January
(8)Tassie Speed Seekers - 1
(9)SA Speed Demons - 2
(2)Wad1Team - =3
(6)Swan River Mob - =3
(7)Moreton Bay Mob - =3
(3)The Pit Crew - 6
(5)Mandurah Mob - 7
(11)FNQ Mob - 8
(10)Connewarre Cremasters - 9
(12)Cockroaches - 10
(4)Speed Team Makkum - 11
(1)JP/NP Mob - 12

Dylan,
Jp/NP team no longer exists - I think they morphed into the Grevelingen Chop team gpsteamchallenge.com.au/team/view/67

You could move up those pommy bastards who were incensed about being in Div 2

Well, that explains why the Grevelingen team did so well in Div 3!

Hard to keep track, but I am working on automating all this, so that these kinds of transfers and renamings are all picked up.

Thanks for the heads up.

That changes Div 1, for sure. No promotions for Div 2 teams until June, but it means Div 1 is sailing with one team less for the season.

Cheers,

Dylan.

Dylan you've probably over-rated Mandurah Mob for 2011, we reached our Zenith in 2010, but we are all a year older this year for an already very old team, and a few of us have gone up a cup size in Manbra's this year

You've just got to stay out of the last 3 places! Everybody in Div1 is another year older this year...

Actually, I'm planning a stats app that tracks individual sailors, team trades, performance figures, etc. Perhaps I should add Manbra Size as one of the stats?

Swagger,
No I was being sincere. Truly we use "pommy bastards" as a term of endearment for our motherland cousins.........................

PS - you only have to wait till June until the PP's are promoted into Div 1
