The GPSTC have some fins we wish to auction off. It was tried before with not much response so we are trying it a different way. This will be an auction thread, similar to an eBay auction. The rules are fairly simple. If you want to bid, post your bid here. The auction will end on Friday the 20th of February 2015 at 8pm so a bit over a week away.
The winning bid will be expected to pay through funds transfer or Paypal within two days of auction finishing. Postage and handling will be $15 ontop of the winning bid.
The fin we have to auction is a 24cm Choco Speed fin. I think its the one on the left.
Lets see how this auction goes. We have a hoped for minimum price but we can see how it goes. This is an auction on one fin only, the 24cm fin.
Come on guys, look at those awesome covers, you might use them as slippers during winter nights or they would make great oven mittens to impress the girls.
$75
I think funding would be more successfull if we could find a way where anyone can contribute a small amount like 5-10 dollars. It would make it easier for people that want to help but cannot afford to spend much.

if the fin was $5 every one that wants to buy it sends in $5 , at the end of the month the winner is drawn from a hat and gets the fin, its a bit like buying a lottery ticket
that's it a raffle
If you're interested in making a small donation, there is a page on the site that has a Paypal link:

Keef, in your case, you could build a fin for the raffle... apparently you-make-em-good. :)
Just to be clear the GPSTC has a fair amount of funds at the moment.
So no immediate need for the Paypal donations.
These fins need to go to a good home rather than sitting unused.
Same with the stickers (all gone) and Rashies / T-shirts.

Mathew unfortunately my fins are very much backyard and not the finnish of the choko also the biggest fin I make is a 22 cm/47, so only a small minority would be interested
on the other hand I am doing a mold at the moment of an interesting fin that could create some interest because it will be one of a kind , i'll let you know when the mould is up and running
Looks like you got a bargain George. $85 for a top quality fin. Well done. The auction has finished.
Let me know how to pay for it, I am ready to raffle it for GPSTC benefit if someone can come up with a practical system

Lao shi said the GPSTC are cashed up at the moment so no need for any out side support
My suggestion is a raffle and the proceeds go the the research of melanoma
I'm in the last stages of developing a speed fin for maximum speed in shallow water under 20nts with maxim sail size,
yes it is a copy of a production and 50% less in weight and less flex as in carbon
These fins are doing excess 40nts in a G10 ,
After final development and proven ,I will make one fin for a public auction only, more details at a later date

That is not quite what I said!
There is no need for additional donation through PayPal at the moment beyond the fund raising that is already being done.
However there are some items which need a good home and should be used to raise funds for site maintenance. Stickers, rashies, fins and t shirts.
Therefore if you want one of these items please bid for it.
Sorry to mobydisc if I stuffed the auction.

sorry i misunderstood Lao shi it's a common problem with Asperger's , It's the key words that register (So no immediate need for the Paypal donations)
seeing we were talking about how to auction or "raffle" the fins , paypal didn't register so I read it as ,no immediate need for donations
and the same for , These fins need to go to a good home rather than sitting unused.

the stickers ,rashies & t-shirts doesn't register when your focusing on how too auction some fins what does register is the fins are sitting around unused and everything else has gone /sold / and the cash is in the bank
as it turns out, who gives a sh-t because the auction has gone under the hammer too the man who cant stop smiling since he returned from LG
