Hi Rhys,
hmmm. i have to say not this year.
"BUT" next year is another story. we might be able to do an invite thing for next year for a couple of you guys if the conditions look to be firing.
More great news for the event.
I am very happy to announce Seabreeze as the latest event sponsors. Laurie has added his excellent SMS vouchers to the prize pool for everyone in the event.
A big thanks for providing us with quite a few so there are going to be some very lucky punters receiving them at the event.
check out the deatils of how they work

cheers Laurie!
p.s. also thanks to everyone for emailing me with confirmation. numbers are growing.
the countdown has begun..... only 7 days to go for the kick off of the challenge.
burrum heads, hervey bay forecast is looking like we will get some wind. how much wind only time will tell.
current situation has a large high moving towards qld/nsw. once it gets here it is expected to squeeze against a line of monsoonal lows and produce SE to ESE winds around the fraser coast area.
still a long range forecast but things are looking good!!!!
holy cow this place looks awesome
ha! in more ways than you think vando!
i got to jump through hoops and require planets in 4 adjacent solar systems to line up just so i can go and sail at hardies an hour and a half away on a crappy forcast!
how many times a year does it fire like that? great pic i assume of you coming towards the camera...can you sail closer to the bar? and how far can you run?
i gather its a bit of a drive for you guys as well...looks like its worth it
alas i cant make it (think slow boat said he might go) have a good one guys and i hope the wind rocks up as well.
snides
you mean the one holding the flags???????
actually i used the image of pd taken from the KA website on last years flyer too. it certainly is an excellent photo.....
this year is was going to try and use a different one but i lost all photos from last years event after a computer crash. i had one of vando.......
but it's prob better that i use a KA sailors anyways.
the event will be yearly so hopefully we can convince some of you guys to come along at some point. think fiji with a sandy point speed strip but only 4 hours north of brisbane.
cheers
I did my back in this afternoon, so if there's no miracle cure in the next day or so, I don't think I'll be going any more.
If anyone was thinking about heading to Burrum, but not sure, or if you just couldn't get accommodation, you could take over my booking: 2 bedroom unit at Burrum Sands Holiday Units for three nights - Sat 5th, Sun 6th and Mon 7th.
PM me if interested....going cheap!!
Please, no-one mention this weekends forecast.
You can look for yourself but just don't mention it an ANYBODY !!
We don't want to jinx it
Anyone for a sail Friday, tide is 1:30ish at 0.65mt and 20-30knots in afternoon. Wind could be highest tomorrow. One of my only sails this year so it could be a good session prior to Sundays event. Pork Chop.
All set to come to Burrum now.
Unfortunately I have a wedding the night before in Gladstone so will not be getting to Burrum until about 1PM on the Sunday.
Can I compete Sunday or will I have to wait until Monday?
Will be in Hervey Bay all week so if any one is up for a sail PM me.
Rip in Gale
Goodluck everyone
The envy shal be a livid colour of green from over here
Have fun
Looking forward to the stories
Anybody sailing Burrum on Saturday 5/4/08???
I'm planning to be there for a rip [}:)], cause the wind looks GOOD
Made it to Burrum today and it looks like it is going to be a good one tomorrow. I was actually sailing an Aerotech 6.7m (Blue and black colours , I really haven't had this sail out too much and I have forgotten the colours). I really needed something smaller today (6m would have been much better). I had to pack up at 12 and left at 12.30pm, but I counted about 7 sailers out by the time I left. Sorry I didn't catch you "Knotboard". Did you make it by 12? At the boatramp or a bit down the road? I drive a blue Honda Jazz.
I also had to leave at 12 because I have forgotten how unfit I am. 4 trips back and forth and I was buggered . Also I have forgotten the difficulties of waterstarting a camber sail again.
Good luck to everyone tomorrow and may the speed be with you.
