See you all at the event.

The Lancelin Ocean Classic Slalom – Sunday 11 Jan – Free to enter – Registration at 11am – Endeavour Tavern.
In the interests of revitalising the LOC Slalom on Sunday the 11th of Jan - the organisers and WWA have made some changes.
-There will be a BBQ Breakfast (approx $6) in the park North of the tavern starting at 9am on Sunday.
-There will be Stand up Paddle boards for all to try and a Kids " come and try" session - Free until around 11am
-The entry fee for the slalom has been dropped for this year - Yes - NO ENTRY FEE - but there will still be some small prizes for participation and winners.
(Note - if you have already entered you will be reimbursed)
-The emphasis of the day will be to have some fun - There will still be an overall winner decided for the perpetual trophy but we want more people to get amongst it so... it will be fun, inclusive for all levels of slalom sailors, and will leave a big smile on your face at the end of the day. The whole afternoon’s racing simply won’t be too “full-on.”
(If you can pull off the odd gybe – We want you!!!!)
-The new format will still use on-water starts and downwind slalom sailing on the protected water inside the reef but will combine:
• A fun team points event – (evenly selected teams to be established from the starting list after briefing)
If you do OK in any of the races you are in - you will be earning your team serious points.
• Team relay races – to finish the day in style with some relay fun
• A casual GPS speed comp based on your own personal best 2 sec Max. – acknowledging those who get within 4 knots of their PB and especially those who set a new PB during racing. (don’t forget to bring your GPS – limited loan units available)
• Still with overall results - with a Grand final for the perpetual trophy – for those who love going head to head and want the Lancelin Slalom Title.
ALSO…Keep in mind
-We'll be up and running as soon as the breeze fills in and will be aiming to be done by early afternoon (including presentations) to allow everyone to get home at a reasonable hour - short and sweet.....
-The pub will have a jazz band playing to liven up the afternoon if you're not in a hurry to get home.
Please support this initiative as we've tried to come up with something that will be fun, rewards participation, encourages sailors to get have a go at slalom and GPS Speed - tell a mate and be a part of it whatever level of slalom sailor you are – come and have a go.
