mkseven tells me that i should use fiberglass noodles in my sails for better performance and durability.
The thing is I can get pool noodles at a good price through a mate.
Should i get the solid core pool noodle or the hollow pool noodle (has a hole though the core) ?
What performance differences can i expect to see between the two?
Id buy both but i don't want to spend $32 on something that i may only use once.
Ill be using these in 7.6m2 Maui TR8.

for your tr8 you need a combo noodle with hollow bottom & solid top

I always thought if you used a maui sail it meant you had no noodle.

Hi Boardboy,

I'm glad someone asked this question so that I can display my wealth of knowledge on the subject.

The TR8 is definitely designed for a softco@k mast. So going for a pool needle as Mr mk has stated would be a good idea for some performance gains. I would suggest getting the sold core (no hole in the centre) noodle mast. As your TR8 has cam they will push the hollow noodle in as there is no core to support the mast.

If you think that you do need a hole in the core you can always cut a custom size hole in the solid noodle.
