Hi I have a mini motion looking for a cheaper option than Garmin for on water data. I am interested in a suunto 3 not sure where to get one from. Had a couple of GW-50 And have had nothing but trouble with them.

What's your budget? There are loads of cheap GPS watches under $100 but none of them can be configured specifically for windsurfing.

Around the 200 mark.
Didn't realise the Garmin 245 is an option under $300. Not sure how suitable it is for windsurfing but anybody have any feedback

.

I have the 245 Music. I paid $250 last Christmas. You can load tbwonder's Data Fields. These provide fantastic on water feed back.

Cheap under $50 android phone with GPS-Logit is good for OTW feedback, and even talks your speed to you as you go. :-)

If you are interested, PM me and I can help you find the app and with setup.

Can also use the WindsportTracker GPS Android App. There is a thread on this forum about it if you search.

tbwonder is the Seabreeze name for Andrew Haig. Andrew has developed 2 off Data Fields for Garmin watches that display the GPS Team Challenge discipline results in real time. There is a topic on Seabreeze which details all this. Search GPSTC Data Fields or tbwonder on Seabreeze Forum. Or better still send tbwonder a private message in Seabreeze.
