Well, actually from Wilson's Prom nearby but they look pretty well spot on for Sandy to me. I stumbled across these this morning and I am fascinated. They bear out almost exactly all the subjective stuff I have told people for many years!

Note that the two best directions for speed sailing here are NE to ENE and WSW! And NNE to NE is perfect offshore for surfing!

Find the whole data set here:

www.windfinder.com/windstatistics/wilsons_promontory?utm_source=www.windfinder.com&utm_medium=web&utm_campaign=redirect

and click on the month to see the stats. for each month, or hold your cursor over the direction arrow at the top of the table and see each month pop up as you move across them.

The good news is that there is still a good chance of some nice winds for the rest of April!

i think the problem is the wilsons prom station is at RL 95.0m so the real reading would be much lower.

For an E/NE the wind is pretty much spot-on with the Prom's wind meter. For a W/SW, as a rule of thumb its about 15-20kt lower.

The wind stats in the Rose are direction and they will be pretty well spot on. The wind strength averages will be pretty right for everything except WSW to SW as Mat says.
