Howdy. I've just got a GT-31 (first GPS) and was wondering how best to set it up. I've seen a few older posts about upgrading firmware etc, but can someone point me to any recent guides. Is KA72.com the website I should upload data to see tracks in Google Earth?
Thanks for any pointers or advice.
Can I assume set up for GT-31 will be like that described for GT-11 (Roo's guide)? The specific link on that page for GT-31 is dead.
I'm in the same boat as my wife was nice enough to give me another reason to spend less time at home
The problem i have is that she bought it online from what i thought is a reputable site, and the USB serial driver CD was not in the box.
Is there a site to download this software?

Click on the download tab
If you have any issues let me know and I can talk you through it.
Yeah Moby it is the GT-31. I thought the SD card would be sufficient, i just don't know what i am doing.
Don't worry about searching for a driver. Follow the MT Best guide posted above. You can go to the Locosys site if you want and download Navilink which is used to get data from the internal memory.
Here is the link for all the downloads from Locosys for the GT-31.

CARD SIZE FOR GT-31
I was helping a mate having trouble setting up his GT-31 and finally worked out that he had a 8Gb card which would not format.
So as suggested here on forums, recommended he get 2Gb card.
It is getting very difficult to buy any card less than 4Gb, so he had to salvage a 2Gb out of an oldish camera.
Will the GT-31 accept/format cards > 2 Gb?
My readme.txt file says only 2Gb or less. Is this an issue with all GT-31's?
The old GT-11 I used worked with smaller capacity cards, smaller the better.
I found the 4GB Sandisk cards sold at JB Hifi for about $5 work fine with the GT-31.
Hi,
I just checked my card. Its actually a 2GB card, not 4GB. I'm not sure if they are still available. If they are then they are a steal, about $5 and they will work with the GT-31.
No need for a bigger capacity card is there? 2GB will last about 10 years. Hopefully by then Locosys or someone else will have developed a really waterproof GPS.
Thanks Moby. That makes sense now. Yes, 2GB will take years to fill up!
I have found 2GB and smaller cards on ebay and also in supermarkets sometimes.
