Not this year guys, but will hopefully be over for the SHQ cup weekend. Or other wise next year.....I can see a sigh of relief on Kato's face
lets hope for a bit more than a kn for 22 hours drive !
but its all about the social not the speed right ?
Hi folks, some SpeedFortnight info.
Background:
------------
For those of you who dont know about SpeedFortnight -> it is simple, people get together for a holiday down at Sandy Point...! If you are keen to see how fast you can go, strap on a GPS and head off down the speed course. If you like windsurfing banter, there is plenty of it to go around with everyone heading back to "speed central" to upload their results.
News:
------
In previous years KA Sail has come to the party with major sponsorship, offering a sail as the grand prize; last year it was won by Luca Sansalone from Townsville -> having punched a hole in his new 6.6 the year before, it was somewhat befitting that he pinched the major prize and so a replacement.
This year Peter from KA has confirmed that they are fulling supporting us again, by sponsoring the major prize with offering a KA Koncept. KA is a recognized brand in speed sailing, with Craig Spottiswood hitting the 50kn peak in SpeedFortnight 2 years ago; and again this year Craig claimed the 5x10s world number one spot -> both time sailing KA Koncept's 5.0m.
Event info:
-----------
As has been in past years, "speed central" is booked so that everyone can come over at the end of the day, to discuss the days' fanfare. If you require shared accommodation (aka making it cheaper than private accom), send me a message as rooms are booking out quickly.
Likewise in past years, we have an event T-shirt with thanks to Martin Love from KA. The logo is distinctively Sandy Point -> if you are interested, send me a message with your preferred size (eg: S,M,L,XL,XXL).
Other details:

Jodi from WhiteCaps Photography [www.whitecapsphotography.com/] will often come down to take a few snaps... it is a good chance to get yourself on film!
On no-wind days, you might think there is nothing to do... you might be correct... Or there is plenty to do; we plan on:
- Spit roast... yum!
- Surfing / SUP at Waratah Bay
- Wavesailing on the front beach when the conditions arn't suitable for going fast.
- Outdoor track-kart racing, b.y.o GPS
- Play 9/18 holes of golf
- Bushwalking at Wilsons Prom
- Visit Agnes Falls (waterfalls)
- If there is snow, possibly a day trip to Mt Hotham
- Matrix (or other movies...) on the big-screen
Everybody should sleep well this year in speed central as a little short WA bloke wont be there...............
Seahorse - are you looking at putting another trophy in the cabinet after your victory at the Inverloch Speed Invitational Good training ground
any chance of finding Smithy and getting some cow tipping in as well
Ahhhh the good old days at Sandy....
