Here it is, enter your fastest nautical miles at these four locations:

docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1r7NTc7_Ug1uZ5P1bFcJaBCk1PVtxtZdCKnenHC-B_a0/edit

The best average for all four locations will be the first ever WA Naughty Comp winner . You must have a speed registered for each location to be in the running.

All speeds recorded on the above link will be transferred to the official table in due time:

docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1w7tqVxF3FuDwk-WRH60ZNl-xdLCtVgeYXB59Hl_7nvQ/edit

Some prizes have been offered, yet to be confirmed. If there is anyone willing to donate a prize for each location, or the competition in general, please contact me. If all else fails you'll have bragging rights and a beer on me

Looks like a fun challenge for summer. I assume you only mean Nm's recorded in Jan Feb 2013.

Yep January & February 2013 only!! At this stage. I will run it for the whole summer next year if 2013 is successful.

Feel free to enter any past PB's at each location (for peoples reference), but only jan and feb 2013 will go on the comp leaders table.

Also if people could do me a favour and enter their speeds into the correct order (fastest at the top), this would help greatly. I will tidy things up every now and then.

You can sort the speeds by highlighting everything. Clicking on Data at the top of the screen and selecting "sort range". Sort by column "D" and select Z to A.
Or just put it in the right place by clicking on the right spot and clicking Insert and "Row above or below"
Sorry to be a geek

Yep your right Lao. This works ONLY if everyone does this after they enter their score (as far as I'm aware). Thats why I thought if I do it every now and then, to tidy things up. Would save people the trouble.

Not sure I agree Keef, this is the gps and speed sailing page, some interstate visitors may like to have a go as well.

Just for clarification.

Hardies refers to anywhere on the estuary (not just the inside run), as with the other 3 lacations!!
Just incase there are any doubts

Don't you mean a few naughties at the Railway Hotel? after you've been for a sail.

Well Done JJ, first Naughty WA Winner!!!

Thanks to all that took the time to sail and post as part of the Nm comp.

All 4 sponsors have disappeared into the abyss. So looks like I owe JJ a beer. Some solid numbers were posted. I even managed to meet some new sailors at my local and at the other locations so I'll pencil it in as a success.

More to come in 2013 with the full summer as a time frame, and a couple more categories planned for the next one.

Cheers Tomski

Thanks Tom

I reckon it was great fun, it's a great idea for a competition.
It gets you out of your comfort zone and can still be challenging without nuclear winds.

I got lucky and just managed to pip a bunch of faster sailors.
Good friendly semi-serious rivalry.

Look forward to next year, perhaps add another division to encourage those that don't normally sail on the ocean?

Cheers - JJ

Good idea, Tom. Simple and does not rely on a forecast.
Well done, JJ.

Some thoughts for next season.

Definitely agree with a summer long comp.

Speed divisions to encourage all to have a crack.

For example if you post a 30+ at a spot you go in division 1.

26+ (need to look at some posts for an actual figure) div 2

23+ div 3 etc

Would not need any more work just set the boundaries at the start.
