Down here a lot of the dinghy sailors wear them to stop their wetsuits wearing the bum out from sitting on the rail

Wetsuits are flattering for some folks from some angles, but the crutch always looks ordinary no matter who's in them. Something about the confluence of seams in rubber that the clever designers can't solve. i'd give boardies a go if fellow windsurfers wouldn't laugh. There is hope, I thought I saw a brave trend-setting windsurfer down at Primbee the other day. Any body else see it?

I have a pair of the Dakine shorts/harness and they are great, but I am such a chicken that I won't wear them over a wetsuit for fear of being accused of being a kiter So instead, I wore my normal seat harness.

You clearly have not seen me in a west suit. Awesome from all angles.

Heh, I asked Kenny about his boardies over his wetsuit years ago. I assumed he was an ex-kiter. Hellz no - he likes to rattle a few cages. Mission accomplished it seems

The technical name might be "mesh stinger suit" but most people just say Fishnets

the reason he wore boardes was there was a hole in his old wettie around the crotch area and he wasnt too keen about showing them off!

I use to wear boardies over the top wakeboarding, because every one else did and that was where the trend started. Apparently the reason for that was, to make you bottom heavy on rotation and the trend carried on when we started kiteboarding in 2000. Also hid my tiny pecker. Stopped kiteboarding and went back to Wind surfing without the shorts over the wetty.Liquid Force also brought out a harness incorporated with long boardies which I tried on and didnt have enough support for the serious wind surfer, but probably ok for try hard kiteboarders and hiding your pecker.. Lets just save the boardies for summer for us slalom dudes! BLOW YOUR ASS OFF HUEY!!!!!

Dinghy sailors do it to protect the wetsuit from wear.

It's a way of concealing a massive camel-toe that some poleys employ.

Why are you going around checking out the crotch of windsurfers? I am starting to understand why the kiters are wearing boardshorts.
