Hi Guys,
Trying to download with ka72 but have a txt file not a sbp or sbn. Just wondering if anyone knows how to change file so ka72 will work?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Carl
Maybe, just maybe, save it as a .gpx file, I think from memory it should load. Dyllan will come back too you if thats incorrect.
Hi Carl,
If you have the data logger switched on in your GPS then you can dump the memory to a .SBP file and upload that instead of the .txt file. To do that, go to the Data Logger menu in the device, and pick "Save to Card".
You can open a .txt file in Realspeed or one of the other packages, and then save it as a .gpx file, but that would be a trackpoints file. Better to get the binary .sbp file instead.
Finally, if your GPS is a GT-11 or GT-31 and is outputting a .txt file, it is not set up right. Check out the setting up instructions at one of these links (don't worry much about the firmware update bit, that's good to do, but more important are the other settings):http://mtbest.net/setting-up-navi-GT31.htm
or

Hi Dylan,
I tried saving from data logger but wouldn't work. My computer died recently so lost realspeed and action replay. Have changed settings on gps so should be okay next time.
Cheers.
Um.... I am pretty sure that of you change an NMEA containing speed (Doppler) data to a .GPX file, that the speed (Doppler) data is retained in the .GPX format.
Yep, just tried it using GPS-Results to save the text (NMEA) file as a .GPX.
Works the same in RealSpeed.
When converting to a gpx file, the doppler data is retained in the file, but ka72.com doesn't use it.
It's on my list of things to do.
Right now, gpx=trackpoints on ka72.com even if there is doppler data in the file.

Just loaded my files to navi link but now i want to view them on gps results i can get gps results to open i just cant see my info on there, any ideas. If they did a 'gps gt31 for dummies' book id buy it for sure.
You need to be a clearer, I'm not sure what you've done.
When you say loaded to navilink. Do you mean you've used navilink to extract the files from the gt31, and store them on your harddisk????
If so you should be able to navigate gps results to where ever you saved the files and open them.
If gps results isn't showing the files, check you have the correct file extension selected. I have a feeling navilink saves a .sbp format, but I'm not sure, you need to check.
