Steb Fisher (pro photog) was at the pit today for MI, he took a heap load of pics with his big Nikon of probably every windsurfer on the water today around lunchtime.
He said he will load them up on his site soon for purchase at:
www.steb.com.au/
or drop him an email and see what he has got.
I had the video out as well, got about 15minutes of shaky footage of random people gybing, crashing and hauling booty. It will be a while before I get the footage onto a DVD, I will put a post up when its ready.
Huge congratulations to Chris Lockwood on his 50 and to everyone else on their PB's, there was some pretty mean gusts out there.
Cool - can't wait! I'm sure you've got a few on there of me making an idiot of myself. On the same subject, I've got a bunch of video from Saturday evening's session where CL did his 50 knot effort. I got a clip or two of most people who were on the water, so if anyone wants a copy of the CD drop me a pm (I think you can do that on here, can't you??? I only joined today...) and I'll post it.
Cheers,
Ian
FlickySpinny - mate the way you were constantly chucking yourself into those spock/vulcan thingys and eating it was inspirational - like the energiser bunny ,
I know Ive got you on a few body drags and stuff, I will PM you when I get the footage sorted.
My camera is with Tim from MI - he is still at sandy pt fixing the wing, he wanted to check out the footage of the wing getting messed up. I need to get my camera from him (Im in melbourne) then i can do the transfer to DVD.
to any tech dudes out there - My camera is a old school Sony Hi8 (tape) - any easy way I can get the footage to DVD? I dont have one of those tv/ rca cards in my PC where I could save it to my hard drive.
thx
If someone you know has a digital video camera, conect yours to that and record to it, then transfer to your computer using firewire, then use a program like Ulead MovieFactory (trial available I think) to make a DVD. Some digital cameras will pass the video through them to the computer converting to digial on the fly with out recording to the digital video camera first.
If you have a mate with a DVD digital camera (no tape), all done in one go.
oops that link I put down earlier does not appear to work, the photo's I was referring too are on www.steb.com.au/ now.
For the A.D.D. afflicted amongst us:

Hmmm I'm not sure. I tried registering but gave up yesterday, thought something along the lines of "[use small metal rotary fixing device] this for a joke".
Now it lets me in no problems. Strange way of doing things.
Perhaps try registering and it might set a cookie on your computer?
Yeah had same prob with link, try cut paste it, it eventually worked or you can just goto the steb.com site and eventually find it.
