Yesterday one of our team mates Steve "Reg" Brown, died suddenly while windsurfing at Lilacs.
We had no contact details for next of kin and the Police will have had to use their resources to track down Steve's wife to notify her, which would have taken some time.
We have a team Googledoc and all new team members are asked to fill it in with contact details for themselves and next of kin, but unfortunately Steve had not done so, even after being reminded after he was lost a couple of winters ago and we had to call in sea rescue to help find him.

Please make sure you have next of kin contact details for all your team members.
It may be needed not only in cases of death, but also if a sailor is injured or goes missing while sailing.
A google doc can be accessed by all who are sent the link if you set it up that way.
