There are already about 20 sailors here from all over Australia, including QLD. No shortage of like minded company Macro.

By then there will be many more.

Well, my intention is to investigate the possibility of the shared drive with somebody. My car or the other doesn't matter but 2 drivers will be handy to split the task of this long distance driving. If only could have those 20 sailors from Queensland alone we should be able to hire a bus or big van Or truck to carry equipment and fly to Adelaide.
There are many willing to try LG but this long drive put them aside. There is plenty of sailors in Queensland and if we could assemble tour bus or similar for less or more organized 2 weeks trip that could be ideal.Maybe there is still not too late to consider? We could setup limit 2 boards 3 sails, unlimited fins, to accommodate all equipment in bus or van with a trailer. Then slit the cost evenly.
Eventually, I may go by myself anyway....Maybe Moreton Mob or Board Crazy as most resourceful clubs can come with some ideas?

Sounds like Rent-A-Crowd
The Journey is half the adventure, then meeting new people (not the same sailors from your local) and having a yarn is the cherry on top.

If 20 sailors on the lake make a crowd lets compare this to events in Europe.

hmmm.
Open ocean racing "event" compared to flat water speed sailing ??
20 to 30 sailors at the local speed strips here in WA gets very crowded.
20 to 30 sailors on a slalom course gets very crowded
20 to 30 Sailors on a break gets very crowded
I don't think DEFI Wind or LOC or CWC for that matter is a fair comparison

But advising somebody to stay home because YOU want to sail in comfortable condition is not the answer either.
I wish I have self-driving Tesla autonomous car that could drive whole way from Gold Coast to Lake George on a single charge and could fit whole windsurfing gear inside.
But this dream is even less realistic than making 40 knots on LG.
Till then splitting the driving workload between two people seems to be the reasonable solution.

Sorry macro, no offense was meant, but advising "somebody" to stay home is different to a "Tour Bus" of people.
I'm not one for localism etc. and all for the comradery of this sport, but there are certain locations and sailing disciplines that crowds and huge numbers on the water make it less inviting and in some instance dangerous.
But hey, this is just my opinion. Fill your tour bus and boots and head off to LG and enjoy the fun.

The sad truth is that so far I can't see even more sailors going from Queensland that you have fingers on one hand.
I see that differently.
This is just like desecration of that saint place on the Earth.Opportunity to sail on Lage George does not happen very often and seeing nobody interesting is simply sad.
Everybody has a chance but nobody care or want that effort.
You may be assured there will be no crowds from Sunshine State at Lake George this year.
That is like your wife prepare you delicious dinner, but you call Pizza Hut and eat this crap instead while she is watching.
Our mates organized Burrum Feast in Queensland and everybody here was happy to see people arriving from more remote parts of Australia
I think Crew at Sandy also invites a guest with open arms.
Can't see a reason for LakeGeorginians to get the dogs out the leash to chase strangers.

That looks like an oversized toaster . Come on down to LG , you won't regret it. Yes it's a long drive but sometimes an adventure isn't on your doorstep .
Btw , loved the Burrum adventure and I'll be back one day

Three of us just got back from Lake George after leaving from TAS. All took separate cars so we could have as much/little gear as we wanted. Took two days to get there and two days to get back, with overnight ferry trip in the middle. I also drove to Burrum from TAS, with two overnight stops on the way. The travelling is all part of the adventure! PS Lake George was fantastic, once a gain! Do it!
