Calling all Windsurfers, WindFoilers, Slalom Racers and Wannabee's
Kurnell Cat Club is hosting an Upwind/Downwind WindFoil race and Slalom Figure 8 session on Sunday 4th of October. The Forecast is looking good!
Up/Downwind racers for the foils - 2 laps for the serious and 1 for novices who want to try it out.
Figure 8 for slalom speed junkies (or those brave enough on a foil too!)
Any Fin, Any Foil will do.
Bring your GPS too...
There is some fine-print... You will need to be a member of a windsurfing club. See www.windsurfing.org/nsw.htm for more details. Marmong and stormriders are popular options... Cheapest is $60 at Marmongpointsc.square.site Casual member.
This also entitles you to a sailnumber if you want one. Some form of sail identification will help the race organisers place you. Duct tape also works. See www.windsurfing.org/sailnumbers_list.htm if you want to register one.
KCC will charge just $15 for a casual race day entry fee.
Plenty of beachside parking and down the back of the club if you can't get a seaside spot.
See you there...

Berowne - are bike helmets sufficient ?
Firstly a big thanks to the Kurnell Cat Club for hosting a good day on the water... very well run event!
Special shout out to Ian and Murray for helping organise the event.
We had a small but dedicated crowd of 4.
In First Place with 3 wins... Glen
In Second with 3 seconds (narrowly missing a win)... Berowne!
In Third place with another consistent day... Stuart
Thanks to Bryson for turning up to represent the slalom crew. We can try again next time we have a few more entrants. A few late comers missed the start. Let's blame daylight saving for that!
After the races I had a bit of a blast around Kurnell too, while the other guys took to freestyle kit or wingfoils.... it takes all sorts.
We look forward to seeing a few more out next time!
