Thumbs Up

I noticed on the kerb today (Saturday) at Kahibah, Newcastle, awaiting council pickup, two ancient (best guess mid 1980s) slalom boards. One was light weight, I think it had the word carbon on it, a Sailworks sticker, and "Shaped for Bruce" written on it. I assume Bruce Wylie. It had the partial name of the shaper, which I don't remember but it wasn't familiar to me (it wasn't Andrew Regan). Had footstraps, a good old fin, and a (more modern looking?) mast base plate (which I would have grabbed if I had a bigger allen key on me).
The other board was similarly plank-shaped but it was plastic, weighed much more, and had steps on the bottom. I was never into slalom boards, but remembered this one from my early days ... any guesses? ... yes, a Bombora Astrotoy. I don't think it
had a fin or footstraps. I couldn't grab them because I was on a bike, and not interested enough to go back with a vehicle, but I hope someone reading this does. Corner of Fallins and Waratah Streets. Pickup is tomorrow, Monday 5 July. Of course there's no guarantee someone won't pick them up before then, but my guess is there's a good chance they'll be there all Sunday.
