Usually bad in summer in Pittwater. not sure about botany but last time i was there it was horrendous. Pittwater usually gets a big swarm every few years but as you said it seems to have lasted all winter. today was really bad came home with goop all over my foils and bottom of board.

Noticed a few big patches off long reef last week as well. Don't bother me, but could imagine foils they could be a show stopper.

Went on the Brooklyn to Pittwater luncheon ferry cruise recently and the blubbers are all the way from Brooklyn to Scotland Island.

Haven't seen any in Jervis Bay but St George's Basin is full of them! "Donk, donk" as they hit the foil mast.

Cripes they're bad!
On Lake Macquarie it doesn't affect a fin once you're planing.

IQ Youth fleet was at Teralba sailing club on lake mac and it was infested. Many came unstuck because of jellyfish.
