FREE COME AND TRY WINDSURFING DAY - SAT 7th November 10am-4:30pm

Thanks to the generous support of Bic Sport Australia, we're excited to be able to run a free "Come and Try Windsurfing" day at Marmong on Saturday 7th November.

The club is located on George St, Marmong Point.

The lessons are open to adults and kids 9 yrs and over - Bic are providing a trailer full of beginner gear that will be free to use during the day. If you have kids under 9, you're welcome to come along and teach them yourself.

If you're someone who hasn't sailed in a while, or has family (including kids) who would like to give it a try, this day is perfect for you. Lessons will start on the hour, so come down any time after 10am. Please share this info with your non-windsurfing friends and family.

I have a friend who don't know anything about windsurfing, can she come to try?

I know how to windsurf myself, hope to bring someone new to this sport !! especially female.

Any shower facilities or changing room there?

Hi Ben,

Yes, this event would be perfect for your friend. The instructors will start with the basics on land, then move to time on the water.

We have a shower and change room inside the sailing club building, and toilets 100m walk up the road.

Marmong Point is on the northern side of Lake Macquarie, which is about an easy 2 hour drive north of Sydney. I think there is also another of these sessions planned for Sydney in January at Georges River Sailing Club - maybe one of the Stormriders club guys can post up details.

Cheers
James

Hi Ben, yes Storm-riders do have another BIC Try Windsurfing day scheduled. As James says, it's scheduled for the end of January(Sunday the 31st) out of Georges River Sailing Club. It'll be run in conjunction with the Yachting NSW Discover Sailing Day on at the same time.

More details to follow closer to the date, but more information can be found on discoversailing.org.au/program-finder/

Just a reminder that this event is on tomorrow. Forecast is looking good for beginners. We'll be there all day from 10-4:30 with lessons starting on the hour throughout the day. We ill also have a sausage sizzle running so come down and be part of it.

Cheers
James

Big thanks to Bevan and Ryan from Bic who did a great job today. We had over 20 new people on the water sailing back and forth!

Thanks to everyone who came along and also the club guys who helped out with everything. Lets do it again soon!

At Marmong we have a starboard go and a small learners sail we have promoted that it is free to use at the club every Saturday when we are there racing.
We have also handed out information to people for Newcastle Kite and Sup as Dave is a qualified instructor if they wanted more lessons as well.
We are also planning another day next February some time.

Yep James told me you were emailing them re options. Great stuff! Now they can keep at it and decide if they want to purchase gear.
