You have to be double vaccinated to participate at Dobroyd and Round 2 at Jervis Bay on the weekend of 27-28 November. After NSW is 95% vaxxed clubs may still require double vaccination
Well what a start to the series! Gusts over 30kn from the WNW lulls down to 10. Three races were held with a bit of attrition on the course.
Here are the results let me know if we missed anything. Next stop Jervis Bay.
Never before in RB history has 10th place been so hotly contested!
Two tiny corrections - R2 i should be scored as DNF (started and pulled out at Mark 4). And I think Lissa and probably a few more similarly for R1?
DNF is of course far more prestigious than DNC
Fastest 2 sec speed on the day (mini-motion) was 25.2kn by the King of DAC (RR). Richie should start doing gps events. Photos below courtesy of Richard Stewart.

The lone foiler is Lars Kleppich (3x summer Olympian windsurfer, bronze medal Barcelona on the Lechner).
Looking forward to Jervis Bay turning it on for us once again this weekend!
Don't forget to pack a range of sails, you are allowed 3 so no excuses.
The club is putting on a lunchtime sausage sizzle each day, so you can feel like you're at Bunnings without the unnecessary tools.

Despite the early forecast gale warning conditions, conditions abated somewhat, with southerly winds of 20kn gusting to high 20's. Having the whole of Jervis Bay to build up, the sea state was a a bit exciting. Screaming down 2m wavefronts and finding a spot to gybe was pretty fun. There was a bit of uncertainty about sail choice with the club a bit protected, but the vision of whitecaps further out made most people drop a size. Some came in to drop another after a pre-start test run while others decided it was above their optimum. Luckily the start boat dragged its anchor giving some of us a few more minutes to finalise sail selection.
Then it was off and race 1 was underway with just seven starters, 6 of whom finished the race. The start / finish area was just a short blast from the beach so it was nice to be able to rest between races, although leaving the beach was a little slow and awkward due to the protection of the headland. Race 2 had 5 starters and 4 finishers. Then the race committee got a bit of squall through after the finish and decided that it was a prudent time to call an end to the day's racing.
Results for today's races are below. Tomorrow the forecast is looking good so that we may get 5 races in with 3 in the morning and 2 in the afternoon.
The outlook for today was very encouraging, so there was a lot of large sails being rigged. The wind was from the south again with great planing conditions. For the third race the wind picked up abit sending a few back to the club in a self-rescue mode. At the lunch break John was leading narrowly from Jimmy and Nathan. There was a bit of discussion about what sail to use for the last session, a few changed down thinking the wind was increasing but by the time we got back out the wind was similar to the first couple of races of the day. Going into the last race there was 3 sailors in contention for the title.
Winners are grinners, Jimmy got his hands on the trophy with Nathan second and John third.
Steve hit Mach1 as he went through the finish line, he pushes so hard. Richie's top speed (2s) was 26kn on Saturday.
This Saturday the Series continues at the Illawarra Yacht Club.
Here is the series result so far. Come along and get your name on the board! Close at the front end!!
Finally, the forecast is looking promising for a nor-easter on Saturday.

Thank you IYC windsurfing crew for a top day yesterday. The annual leave day was well worth it.
Also thanks to the NSW Race boards for allowing us LT's to participate in the event, fun fun with a massive all day.
Um, yes first race forgot about that middle fin called centreboard
Alot of learning is to be done on racing, that for sure.
Again thank you 100% top day
Ps loving the LT
We echo nudie's appreciation to Nick Nelson on the start boat & Neil McKinlay at the clubhouse. There's always a breeze when we sail there & the flat water makes sailing at IYC very enjoyable.
That makes 3 breezy events in a row, though yesterday was the first warm one. Congratulations to John Doolan for winning the raceboards in a countback from Richie Reynolds.
5 races in a building Nor Easter, great fun, we did 2 races had a lunch break where most people changed down a size for the final 3 races in fast conditions. Here are the results
Here is the series score at this stage, halfway through and John Doolan has got to the lead.
See you in Lake Cootharaba for the Nationals 16 - 20 January.

The NSW Raceboard Series resumes this Sunday 27th Feb, with Round 4 at Palm Beach Sailing Club.
Racing will start at 1030-11am (wind permitting), so we are aiming for a briefing at 10am.
A big vote of thanks to Richard Lacey who has been working hard to make this event a ripper. Richard suggests you aim to arrive at 9am to beat the traffic. He has sought 10 parking passes from Northern Beaches Council, and there is a trailer overflow area that we can use and can accommodate 30 cars close to the rigging area. There will be a parking marshal to point people into the free parking area otherwise its about $35 per day (for Council parking.). Se
We will probably have 4 races back-to-back, so take drinks and snacks out on the water. You can leave water bottles on the club support vessels.
The Sailing club is not serving food so it's recommended that participants bring all their necessities for the day (lunch /water /sunscreen).
For those who want to kick on, Club Palm Beach (formerly the Palm Beach RSL) is nearby for a Fisherman's Basket or a Chicken Parmy after sailing. clubpalmbeach.com.au/ Bistro hours 11:30am - 8:30pm so we should be able to get food after racing, whenever we finish.
Stay tuned for details on Round 5 at St George the following weekend on March 5th.
Finally the rain stopped for a while....
Provisional results for the Raceboard Series at Palm Beach Sailing Club. Thanks to all involved for making it happen.
Congratulations John that will help with the overall Series standing!
The NSW Raceboard Series continues this Saturday 5th March, with Round 5 at St George Sailing Club.
Racing will start after 2:00pm, we will have 3 races.
The club is running off the beach at the moment during the rebuild so bring your own snacks and refreshments. Allow a bit of time for the walk to the public toilets.
Due to the extreme weather event we are enduring, St George Sailing Club has decided it's not safe to go ahead with Round 5 this Saturday. Quite sensibly they are concerned about the run-out tide with large trees and other debris floating around, as well as water quality and the sea state. So the event is cancelled.
It is only 2 weeks until the final 2-day event at Saratoga in March (19-20) will be a fabulous finale to the season!! There will be a great social on the Saturday evening hosted by the club, and as we all remember they do great food at Saratoga!! Don't forget to book your camping site.
To catch up on missed sailing this season there is the additional Sail Port Stephens event at Soldiers Point on April 9 and 10. Entry for this will open soon.
Just over a week to go until the final round of the NSW Starboard Severne Raceboard Series concludes at Saratoga with a weekend of racing and socialising (in a COVID safe way of course).

The Series progressive scores are below, a drop comes into play with this event so there is plenty that can still change.
We got 5 races in today in a South Easterly that had the occasional gusts over 20kn. Many thanks to the Saratoga Sailing Club and volunteers for hosting us. More racing from 11am tomorrow.
Lights and variable winds which only allowed us to get 2 races in.
That concluded the series congratulations to John Doolan having a consistent season and taking out the series from Richie and Nathan.
Many thanks to the season sponsors Starboard and Severne and the many helpers that made the it all happen.
To wind up the season Sail Port Stephen on April 9th and 10th is hosting Raceboards and WIndsurfers LT's.
