The membership of WNSW has been finalised for the 21/22 financial year. You can check your membership on www.windsurfingnsw.com/member-register/ or www.windsurfing.org/files/info/AWA_Members.pdf

Ignoring 15 duplicate members, the largest NSW based windsurfing club is WCAA (one design) with 99 NSW members, Dobroyd Aquatic Club 53, Marmong Point 35, Illawarra 32, NSW Wave Association 28, Hunters Hill Sailing Club and Stormriders with 17 each, St George 8, WSC 6, Saratoga 5, Koonawarra Bay 2 & RPAYC 1. Membership in 21/22 compared to 20/21 was unchanged at 508 members (including all WCAA members.) Strong windsurfing clubs such as Balmoral Sailing Club have all of their windsurfers as WCAA members.

WNSW is an affiliate state windsurfing association of the Australian Windsurfing Association (AWA). WNSW member fees ($20pp) and $100 per affiliated windsurfing club) assists the AWA to maintain third party public liability insurance coverage for members, a national AUS sail number, and affiliation to international class associations such as IQFoil, and Formula Windsurfing allowing members to compete in Australia and internationally. It also allows WNSW to support windsurfing and windsurfers in this state including maintaining infrastructure such as websites, staging events and negotiating with Maritime (sigh) & the Port Authority of NSW regarding better Sydney harbour access for windsurfers and lifejacket regulations applicable to windsurfers.

The AWA operates on a financial year basis. In terms of the third party public liability insurance coverage, its policy is to rollover last years WNSW financial members (ie 21/22 as shown above) until 1 September of the current year (ie 1/9/2022). By that date, your club should have submitted your name to WNSW who will forward it to the AWA to maintain your insurance coverage. At or around that date, the WNSW 22/23 member register will be live on the WNSW website. Letters have been sent to WNSW affiliated windsurfing clubs outlining this.

Please DM me if you have any queries.

Regards
Secretary WNSW

As Berowne mentioned in his post above, the AWA rolls over the tppl insurance for 22/23 on 1 September 2022. The following list shows the WNSW 22/23 member details as submitted to me by affiliated NSW windsurfing clubs as of 30 August 2022.

If you're not on the list and windsurfing or wingfoiling, I would contact your club. I'm submitting member details daily to John Rohde at the AWA to ensure members retain insurance coverage.

Some members windsurfing clubs and councils that sanction windsurfing events require that they sight the AWA tppl insurance policy.
Here is the link to the 22/23 certificate of currency which can be found on the WNSW website.
