Hi guys,
I am relatively new in Sydney and dont yet know how exactly the spots work in different conditions. I´d like to experience some australian wavesailing - where should I sail today?
It seems like there will be S-SW today with fairly large swell. I am safe in windy conditions and more or less survive beachbreaks ok.
I live in manly, so northern beaches is best but I can take the afternoon off and go south as well.
Will long reef/collaroy max out today? Any other recommendations?
Thanks a lot for any reply,
cheers,
Mads
passed Long Reef this morning. Swell is clean & solid & may build. Collaroy was 2 foot, Dee Why Point not really much good.
Collaroy needs S/SE wind, SW/SSW is too offshore. You could sail Narrabeen if SSW but will just have shore dump.
Options for north side are really Pittwater at Iluka Rd Palm Beach & Manly (harbour) with easiest launch off East Espl.
but anywhere in Manly Cove where you can park.
South side La Perouse or Dolls Point in Botany Bay.
Wind might come up from mid-morning, maybe.
Thanks for tips!
For other practical reason I had to end up in collaroy - very gusty.. Next time its south of sydney for sure!

I didt sail yesterday, but according to the weather history report, it is very gusty.
My friend went to La Perouse in the south, and because of the swell, he ends up not going to the water (his has 20+ years of sailing experience)
Next time, I will bring a big board (with a small fin) with me in this situation, at least keep me on the water, not in the water. Although it is bumby, but it is controllable
i was at Dolls point yesterday on my 4.7
yeah it was super gusty but it filled in and i sailed till sunset powered up .. in boardies
your mate missed out
saved a guys kiteboard too
