Visiting the northern beaches, staying just next to long reef.

Long Reef launching from the surf life saving club looks good for sailing on my wave board with 4.2 to 5.3 sails. But what about slalom sailing on 7.0 and 7.8.

The reef and shore break looks a bit tuff on expensive fins and race sails, is there a better launch or spot for that kind of sailing locally?

Narrabeen Lakes is not far from Collaroy, best in Ne, launch from the south end.

You can tack out from Fisherman's/Brownwater at Collaroy basin where the kites go in a NE
or further up along Ocean Street Narrabeen but can get a bit of a shore dump if E/NE swell.

If happy with flatwater head to Narra lake at Middle Creek as mentioned or Pittwater on the
Palmy side can be good if about 15 knots.
