Racing started last night for ISAF Youth Worlds in Tavira Portugal.

Representing Australia in the boys RS:X class is Jock Calvert from Tasmania. Local windsurfer Lara O'Brien is representing in the girls RS:X class. There are 32 countries entered in the boys fleet and 21 countries in the girls fleet. Each country is only allowed to send one representative.
Day 1
3 races were held in planning conditions in 12-15knots.
Jock placed 10, 16 & 24 to be in 15th place.
Lara placed 13, 14 & 13 to be in 14th place.

Day 2
Sailors waited most of the day for the seabreeze to kick in.
The first races for RS:X got underway at 6:30PM (yes that?s PM) and the last race did not finished till 8:30PM.
3 races were held.
Jock placed 26, 30 & 27 to be in 22th place.
Lara placed 16, 12 & 11 to be in 13th place.

Day 3
It was a frustrating day for the RS:X Boys and Girls fleet with no racing possible.
The RS:X fleet was sent out on the course late in the afternoon, however the seabreeze was too light to make effective progress against the strong tide across the course.
Day 4
The seabreeze came in late in the afternoon, blowing 8 to 12 knots. The RS:X fleet was able to complete 3 races, bringing the total number of races so far to 9 races.
Jock placed 26, 23 & 29 to be in 26th place.
Lara placed 16, 13 & 14 to be in 13th place
The last days racing commences tonight at 9:00PM Brisbane time.
The RS:X start time has been brought forward to enable them to sail a further 3 races.
At 8:45PM it's currently blowing 5 knots gusting to 10 knots on the course and the fleet is at the start line.
Awesome she's sailing really well Pat. Not bad at all for someone who only stepped on an RSX for the first time this year.

3 races held in 10-15 knot seabreeze.
Jock 29, 28 &20 places
Lara 13, 14 & 16 places.
Yael Paz (ISR) triumphed in the RS:X Boys fleet whilst Russia's Stefaniya Elfutina came out on top in the girls fleet
