I am moving in the next few weeks to Brisbane, and won't have my gear there in time. I am keen to come down and to meet you all as I will be joining the club as soon as my gear turns up.
Just a reminder that Sail Brisbane is on this weekend at RQYS.
Still time to register.
Current numbers looking like:
9 raceboards
1 RS:X
2 WindFoils (maybe 3)
Just need one more raceboard to make it 10!
Great Photo's
Well done to Mark Ward for sailing a near perfect regatta and taking the win in Raceboards and also to Julien Savina for taking the win in Foils , also well done to all the youth for sailing so well and being so competitive, some on boards that are nearly double the age of the sailor.
A great Regatta, 7 races in two days with Waterloo Bay turning it on once again for some powered up racing on the second day. It was a great little shake down regatta and now looking forward to the Raceboard/Formula and Foil Nationals in January again at RQ.
Many thanks to all the volunteers and staff for running such a well organised event, 190 boats over 4 seperate courses
How windy do you think it was on Sunday? Observations from Inner Beacon was 14-17 knots and Banana Bank was 15-18 knots.
I would have said it was easy gusting to over 20? Maybe my perception of wind strength has been skewed hanging on to a 9.5 raceboard sail?
Great photos of local RB competition.
Great to see the old boards are still sailing.
Long live the SPEED 250 F1.
^^ Nice work. Ive got 2 x 250 F1s n an original SR250L which needs lotsa love.
Heres a few pics of my mates SR250L Fully stickered up like an F1 car. Makes it heaps faster!! Looks pretty cool too. Original one owner.
Gotta love em!!
Locally made. When i was a teenager these were Da Bomb!
Heres the two i have.
Olskool, this year in the Nationals we have a "Sprint Division" its a shortened course to encourage more people to come and try some racing. Same concept as the freeformula or freefoil divisions in those classes.
You and your mates boards would love the opportunity to meet some new friends and go for a run around the track with them so if not for yourself do it for your boards, they will love you forever.
Plus the NSW sailors always outnumber the Qld, we need to help to turn that around
Nice looking boards, the Speeds are such a great board and they are very competitive.
I sold the Speed and the Mistral to the kids in the photos, it's great to see them back in the water and racing so if anyone has any laying around lets us know we will buy them and then make them available for the next generation.
Cam, im minus a 9.5 racesail now. First day out that recent Hailstorm nuked the one i got off you. Was out cruisin around GB before the storm. Had so much fun i didnt pay much attention until it was a mad rush to get off the water. 2 minutes later the sail was shredded.
