yes,
peter nitschke is organising informal one design races first sunday of every month through winter. mostly the lake but there are other venues he's looking at. I believe some of the crew from the burrum fleet are also being invited to come along.
it's informal stuff. next get together is first sunday of june in 2 weeks. I'm sure a post will occur on seabreeze prior to that time.
...and I suppose if you haven't got a one-design, bring what you've got. If nothing else you can get some training for getting around the buoys for next season - All Boats (err, Boards) regatta in August to kick things off.

Really? I have an old tyronsea, if I can find a retro 6m soft sail , could I join in for the fun?
Gestalt,
What i referred to was, The club is finished sailing for the season, for official, proper course racing
Playing around with your Wally doesn't really count for much
Looking forward to what you have to say on your 100000 post!!!!!!
Last year I did the All boats regatta on the raceboard in August. I think Tony, Jo and few others were there. The winds were a bit fickle and it's a bit cool on the water but racing is racing and the pub was open.

some kind of longboard snobbery,
lol.
Well thank you guys, now that I have purchased my long board I will try to make it for the training runs.

no one is going to be turned away. Turn up with whatever gear you like. It's all for fun and to get out on the water. if you're worried about gear peter has a few extra setups for others.

...and if you can't find a suitable rig in time we have a few at the sailing club you could borrow on the day until you get sorted. Perhaps the only glitch there might be the mast base but you might be lucky.
Also for anyone thinking that you need the latest phantom/severne combo to race at LCSC during the season, remember its a mixed fleet of cats, dinghys and boards, competing on handicap/yardstick. So provided you can do a couple of laps of the triangle course on whatever you've got, and know enough of the rules not to bump into anyone (often), then you're racing. If you must, upgrade to the new-fandangled kit later, but meanwhile you'll have a giggle, get fit and build skills sailing whatever you have long-neglected in the shed. Wallys, Tyronseas, TCs, Hi-Flys, Bics etc etc stooging round a lake out numbering those lazy sailors needing bits of wire to hold up their rigs for them - I'm having a non-drug induced flashback to my youth. Gonna need some fluro okanui's when it gets warmer.
I'll have to get there at some stage and give the 350 a burl.
Indeed...foot straps are for the weak!
Well tried the Phantom 377 today and found it easy to sail, just need to get used to sail position depending what I am doing, tacking, gybing etc. But all up had a great light wind sail with Darryl on his Formula. I guess long board vs. Formula. Both good

now for something very 2014 looking ^^^^
tyronsea, ahead of it's time since 1990.
Picked up an original Windsurfer triangle sail in really good cond on the weekend. Luff is 410 & boom 250,
Just have to try and find an original alloy boom for it - don't suppose anyone has one lying around in their garage they don't want anymore?
