Awesome footage. Thanks for putting it up. Did you have a GPS on and is there a link to numbers? Care to comment on the boards tested back to back. Hard to tell from the footage but the slalom board almost looked fastest and quickest back to speed after gybe?

Hi Martin,
Thanks. No I dont have a GPS sorry so i cant give you any of that kind of info.
The Magic Ride and Rocket are my boards so i have ridden them a bit, however the Rocket is new and ive only had it a few weeks. The slalom board was very fast, however we were in very flat water, and the wind was probably at its strongest during that session. My understanding (and i'm no expert), is that the slalom boards are quicker in flat water (and in all conditions in the right hands), but the Rocket with its reverse concave front and flat rear end is more comfortable in the chop, and therefore allows you to push a bit more if you're not an expert. I have sailed the Rocket in open water at Safety Bay and it felt pretty good. The slalom board was awesome too, but i was in flat water and I dont think i got near its limit as i was just testing the waters with it so to speak. :)
Much appreciated for info. Sorry for hijacking thread.
OP -Good luck on your choice of board and be sure to let us know your thoughts.
Thanks for all the info, didnt think id get this much back.
I think I am leaning towards a 103 Magic Ride as im 70kg. As i only currently have 4.8 and a 5.5 sails, if i find that im not being able to use it as much as i want, ill have to look for a 430 mast (currently only have a 400 with a XL extension) and a larger sails.
Great vid Madlad. I used to live in Perth and Safety bay was my favorite spot to kite and windsurf.

It used to be good, but there are lots of kitesurfers that dont keep in their area. We nearly lost the drone twice due to kites straying down to where we were filming..
