Hi,
can anyone tell me something about the AL360 carbon booms? Are they any good? Has anyone got experience with them? I did get one offered to buy but never heard of them before.. Google tells me they're ok, but google doesn't windsurf.
Cheers!

Excellent carbon booms! I have two, the E3 Carbon Slim (150 -200) and the E3 Carbon (160 - 220).

The Slim, as you might have guessed, has a small diameter grip (25 mm.) which is really nice on the hands. The E3 Carbon has a 28 mm. grip. Both are really stiff and have stayed so after years of (ab)use.

Had to replace the the boom clips once on the Slim because they started to corrode. Nothing big, I think the newer ones don't have that problem anymore. If you can get one at a decent price, it's a no brainer.

E3 Carbon Slim 140-190

Amazing boom .. 25mm diameter (there's smaller) but the 25mm v-grip is the best ever (and better than 24mm without v-grip).

Plastic quality is crap but it has held up for about 5 years!

I've had the 140-190 for at least 4 years (over 200 sessions), used it for all my foiling with sails up to 5.8, almost fully extended.
It is light, stiff and strong. Bought it new from the windsurfing shed

Nothing to worry about with AL360 booms, well made and built to last. I have three E3 Slalom booms, S, M & L sizes, all purchased around 2012. I've replaced boom adjuster clips maybe three times, and the boom heads once. All still going strong, and will probably outlast me...

Thank you guys, it sounds like those booms are great. Looking forward to getting mine and putting it through its paces.

Best carbon boom I had so far. My carbon slim is from 2014 or 2015 and is still in good shape after heavy use. I ve only replaced the clips once and the grip need to be renewed this year. The boom end already has some grooves but the wallthickness is still good because is a lot thicker compared to Severne for example.

Superb boom.

Have a second hand AL360 carbon 2013 slim.

2 small negatives:
1. no loop 'n' go outhaul (anyone a hack?)
2. after 10 years some wear and tear between boomhead and boomtube

yea .. easy fix .. I bought a new outhaul cleat for about $20 .. simple removal and then rivet and good to go.

tolerances are not too critical and the plastic is usually flexible so not too hard to find one that works ... I think mine was North.

Bit like this .. maybe it was this one ..? cant remember, so long ago .. might have bought a couple of different versions to get the right diameter.
