Hi..just thinking of buying a roll of down haul rope ,as using a down haul winch does wear them out quick.
some extension have 4 mm 5 & 6 ..
I think the 5 mm might be the pick .?,
then the 4 is easier to cleat off.?
wats the pick.?
I had a bit of a search when I was looking for some new downhaul rope & Marlow Formuline seemed to rate pretty highly. It's readily available from various shops too
www.marlowropes.com/product/formuline
Thanks guys ...
i might buy 2 metre of each ,see what I like ,then get a roll
alway handy to have ..wetsuit clothes line ,tie the dog up etc..etc..
5mm formuline, I think, is close to 5/32".
Been using it for 4 seasons now, each piece lasting a whole season plus, over 80 days of rigging.
I've also been using formuline now and find that it lasts more than a season. Just for safety though, I flip the line the end of the season so one set lasts me 2 seasons safely.
buy a roll, 100 meters at 6 per meter
seriously it is the best downhaul rope and i think a few manufactuers might suppy it on their extensions.
it lasts forever, and super easy to downhaul.
