Purchased the 2-bolt model couple seasons ago for wind foiling. The ProFlex joint combo tendon and mechanical just makes life easier when it comes to attaching the rig to the wide (~77cm) Horue Tiny dual purpose board. Not thinking. After foiling I left the base on for a light wind fin session. Chinook notes for foil use only. Done and unrigging noticed the upper pivot pin sticking out ~1cm. No nut. Guessing it would have come out even foiling if not firmly on.
Local hardware store had an assortment of metric and SAE nuts with various thread pitches. No go. Just off the telephone with Chinook. Part is not listed on their webpage. Andy, from Chinook noted it's a size that probably not available at local hardware stores. They are mailing me a replacement.
Have a more recently purchased backup single bolt ProFlex. Noticed both nuts are nylock. My original has just normal nuts. For those with normal nuts a quick check is probably necessary.
2nd issue with a Chinook part. Decades ago when they first came out with the 2-bolt base the plastic clip that you push or pull to lock or remove the upper cracked. Called Chinook. Just expected a replacement tab. They overnight shipped a complete new base unit. Have stuck with Chinook bases and extensions since then. There customer service is still great.
I have a proflex from when I windfoiled (now winging). I've been wondering if replacing the tendon with the usual length one (proflex is shorter) would let it be used on a regular board. I like how easily it connects and doesn't try to flip the board.
