I'm searching for a new midsize slalom board.
The Invictus scored high in french Wind Magazine, very nice looking board / construction and by a great shaper.
Has anybody tried the 118 yet, preferably in comparison to (my default) isonic 72?
Ride quality, control, etc.?
Thanks!

I have a set of FMX Invictus boards. Had just a brief occasion to test my 128. So far I can say that the design seems really OK, the board behaved very nicely even in conditions and setup it's not intended for (44 CL SL2 fin in 20 + knots), very easy and stable. I did not find a trace of what the PlancheMag test report says about a tendency to lift the nose if sheeting out or it being "physical". While what I read on the WS33 forum (about other sizes) seems to me spot on also for the 128: a board that is very easy to be made go fast.

After some more sailing (not nearly enough ... ugly season) with my Invictus 128, 108 and 98 I can confirm the FMX Invictus boards, apart from being powerful contenders as Maciek Rutkowski shows very well whenever possible, are very easy to sail and super controllable even under my feet. Feel very stiff (it's full carbon over and under, inside and out) but go through chop with ease thanks to the design (deep concave vee in the nose and mid board). Very easy to make "fly" on the fin, lots of pressure on the fin. High over water and super stable. Feel "small" when on the fly, but floaty in the jibes.
At 191 cm, 86 kg, I feel really OK with the 98 in 6.9 powered up conditions. I am sure it's even better with 6.3 and smaller. The 108 is perfect with my 7.5 Venom. The same 7.5 feels smallish on the 128, which likes the 8.2 better. As for fins I am using KingFins E5 (32, 36, 43 respectively) and seems to me it's a nice fit (36 yet to test): solid, powerful and easy. I also have CL SL2, but seems to me those are too stiff and the boards (108 + 37, 128 + 44) tend to sail on the windward rail. Maybe will be OK in overly difficult conditions. And also Shark Fins (37, 44) which are rather thin and flexy, have good lift and lots of speed, but tend to "move" a bit too much and (expecially the 44) lift the tail in the gusts. Those are probably OK in very flat easy conditions.

After some more sailing, I confirm the above.
The boards are super nice, fast and easy. The fins I am using seem to me a good choice being very stable yet powerful. Maybe need some size adjustment. The 36 seems very good in powered up conditions, maybe 36.5 - 37 could be better with 7.5 in lesser conditions. While the 43 is maybe a bit too much for the 128, plenty powerful and controllable but I think 42 would be enough already for the 8.2 sail.

At last, a nice session on the Invictus 98.
Actually, it happened to be the BEST session of the last season, with classic conditions of about 20 - 25 knots Maestrale, far less gusty than ususal in recent times and almost looking like a day from 10 or 20 years ago ...
6.9 S2Maui Venom and 32 KingFins E5. The sail seems perfect as "comfortable big" size for the board; fin just perfect, always powerful yet controllable. A lot of fun! The board gets planing very easily, comparatively much easier than her larger siblings, control is superb, jibes are a breeze with all that volume under foot (I am used to my m? SL91, 57 wide).

When reading french is a problem, there's always the option to paste the URL into google translate
Just click the exit box, on the right hand pane, just over the "copy" icon

I didn't find any report though?
What I did see were some mouthwatering shots from one of my favorite spots, Gruissan FR.
But no report.
