Indeed, it does....if only the presentation was in English
Come on, be flexible and open minded, read the subs and feed in Google. ;-)
Looks very promising.
Very excited to see/hear how that concave on the rear end works.

Jericoa,
actually you are right, incomprehensible that JP leaves the primeur presentation to a dealer.
I think he said something along the lines of its faster than last years, it turns better than last years, it is lighter, but is stronger, it planes earlier than last years and has more top end control, it has a more classic outline but takes influences from the stubby. Beg your pardon, thinking of Fanatic Mamba. Or Starboard whatever.
It does look to have the fin box quite far forward.
On another note, looks like someone snapped a 105 Dyno and reused as a drink stand shelf upright.
Looks very promising.

Is it concave all the way thru? I couldn't see it well

He says: concave in the rear- and double concave in the middle- section.
Wait minute here!
For the past 5 years, JP has been touting both a double concave and a single inverted panel tail wave board.
Nothing new here.
I cant wait until the specs turn out but it looks like a 2013 with a swallow tail!
I still think the 2010 and 2012 models were the best shapes.
At long last brands are making faster production waveboards magic wave looks like a good shape. Then again JP boards tend to do what they say.
JP colours IMHO the last few years it's like they hunt around the shed to see what paint is kicking around, mix it all together and convince themselves it looks great in the flesh, in the sun, on weekends... Yeah-nahh

It's exactly what he said
Spoke to Leon and Robby privately about this board. Robby seems to love it and Leon said that he found the moment he was slogging on the ultimate wave, he changed to the magic protos and felt like he was sailing the ultimate in better conditions. Having watched the footage of them both sailing the boards in less than fantastic conditions, i don't think that's brand bull****.
seems to be a good design
One thing I don't get why do they keep putting slot boxes in. Useless piece of junk it has proven to be.

Well I took delivery of a JP Magic Wave 89L, and it looks awesome. Cannot report on how it sails as yet but will update this thread as soon as I get the opportunity. I'm really liking how its so compact in length and not overly wide, seems to have a nicer thin swallow tail (unlike the older JP Thruster Quad which had a big fat chunky pintail which I found kinda sluggish to turn on proper waves).
I also really love the twin screw foot straps, no more twisting period! Especially when transitioning from bottom to top turn, they would always twist, none of those anti twist gizmo's every worked properly in my experience.
The 89L comes with a 19cm center and 2 x 10cm side fins, I'll be looking to pickup some 15cm rear centers with the 10's in Quad mode too,
Don't see the need for current twin fin idea.
True wave riding twins have fins near the rail, spread away from the other fin, to release when you turn and pivot off the inside fin.
Current ws twins are just placed too close together to ever release. So ride a tri or single!
any feedback from the water?
Yes! I have used it at Sandy Point which is DTL in an easterly. I used it with a pair of Shockwave 15cm center fins and the stock 10cm side fins and it was great. It felt fast, turny and grippy. The shortness of the board does really make it seem like a much smaller board than what it is. As I suspected above in my previous post, the thinner swallow tail works so much better IMO than the chunky pintail from the Thruster Quad. Its so much more responsive when going bottom turn to top turn and allows me to make tighter radius carves. I am more than pleased with this board.
If your a one board solution wave sailor, the Magic Wave would have to be right up there as a contender, its so versatile. In thruster mode it is perfect for bump and jump, and in quad, it has the right shape so you don't need to compromise on anything for riding DTL waves.
I mainly use this board (I've got the 89L) with my 5.0 for the lighter days, but have also used it with my 4.0 and 4.5 on those windier days where its flukey and it didn't feel out of sorts to me. With previous boards, sometimes using a very small sail on a big board, it felt like I was riding a long board.

So if I understand well this board works well Aldo in side side off conditions in your opinion?
Hi guys, any reviews about the bigger sizes 95 / 105?
Saw, tested? If yes, interested to know more about the get up and go, glide, ability to get speed in turns, radicality in sideonshore, limits...
Looks like the smaller sizes are working really well but haven't found anything about the bigger one, and I'm a lil bit afraid about the thickness and/or width, as they stay really short.
Thks!
Hey guys!
Any reviews out the bigger sizes 95 / 105.
Haven't found anything and would like to know more about their abilities.
The smaller ones look like they work really well. The bigger ones have a lot of width & stay short (thick?)... so I' a lil bit afraid that they could feel less fast / radical even for heavier guys in "proportional comparison"?
thks!
Just pick up a 95 Magicwave !
Any advice about how to set it up?
(straps, fins, mastbase?)
I've got the original jp thruster setup 18+2x10 JP (one size smaller Thant normally given with the 95).
I'll try it as a quad with 2xK4 Scorcher 16 + 2x10 JP.
2 things to note that I haven't noticed before :
. the PRO construction is S-Glass sandwich (not carbon sandwich like the Ultimate).
. the 2 rear finboxes (quad setup) are really close together compared to some other boards on this size (and probably up).
I'll let you know more after some sessions.

I think the colours look good. They would have hired a graphic designer to keep up with current mood of the population in general and seen the purples for what they represent, Paint kicking around the shed Good grief.
Hello all,
Don't have any time for a real feedback of the 95, and it's too early with only 2 proper sessions on it, but I'd like to share some advices from a very well placed guy about how to setup the Magic Wave (for standard side/sideon wind) :
. mast track forward (middle forward)
. straps with more stance than the original normal setup (fully back + fully front, or a minima one step less)
. back fins forward (middle forward)
. works well as a quad, but would definitely use it as a thruster as it gets more onshore.
That's quiet the opposite of what I've tried so far, so i'll try it on the next session...
In 2 words, so far the board feels quiet special but also quiet good.
It has potential, feels grippy on the bottom turn, and for sure has a good glide / speed (I was afraid of that with it's 62cm width).
It feels smooth underfoot (except for flat landing) and has good control in heavy sea for this width.
Any feedback from other users?
Btw, I just saw a 105 on the beach last week.
I haven't had the opportunity to get them close to each other, but I firstly thought it was a twin sister!
