Gybes on a dime but as yet my gybes have been a disaster on it due to the near complete lack of volume and my chicken gybe strategy.

Feels smaller than a 2012 87 wood Sonic i had especially in the tail and in the nose.

I use a 30 Vector EX with a 5m and a 32 EX with my 5.6m

Rides similar to my 2012 wood Sonic.

Rides super high out the water possibly helped by its very light weight.

Rails are soft and tucked with lots of vee and concaves. Tail is super narrow and there is no slapping sensation that i sometimes got with the 92 Patrik i also had.

Rides like a 80 litre Severne Fox if they were ever to make one.

Feels around 10 litres less than the 92 Patrik.

The 87 Patrik is strictly not recommenced unless you are a lightweight and or can gybe without stalling as the lack of volume on this board is a real eyeopener.

Extremely enjoyable once powered as it cuts through the swell and chop amazing. Constuction does not give you the hard carbon feel rather a much softer almost plastic type feeling.

Do not regret buying it as it rides so different from the wider modern boards of today.

Have a go on it in Mandurah on the flat water & look out for an Easterly in Albany, EPIC. You'll be flying thru that gybes in no time.

I used the 87 today on the river in 14 to 25 knots with my 5m.

Swapped to my 100 after half an hour as the wind was very up and down but still underpowered.

No question the 87 has a nicer feel than my 100 it just needs another few knots.

Such a slippery feel under the tail especially. Marginally faster than my 100 when i get it powered up, i think.

Should have been on my 5.6 with the 87 but you live and learn.
