Harnesses are very personnel choices, dependent on body shape, type of sailing and sailing style. For my stout body shape, predominantly GPS sailing and preference for 30 inch harness lines and a low hook height, my recent purchase of the Severne Pod Seat Harness really fits the bill.
Since recommencing windsurfing in 2010, I've been looking for a harness to meet my needs. I unsuccessfully tried models from Prolimit and Flying Object. The Severne Pod is
- more comfortable
- the hook height is lower (hip height)
- the bar does not twist
- the leg straps are comfortable and do not slip
- the bar straps do not slip
All in all a great product.

bar straps do slip on mine and wear real quick. But nevermind I love that harness !!!!

i just switched from pro limit ...way better ...lower hook ...less back pressure ..
I've had mine now for about 5 sessions. It was a real difficult choice between the 2 Severne seat harnesses. Tried them both on in various sizes and settled for the pod after about an hour. So far very happy with it and had no slipping problems yet.
I do wish that it had a pocket tho. Store key rope etc. Came from a NP seat of about 10yrs old and the Severne has fitted in seamlessly.
Got a long sleeve neo top too but haven't got it wet yet. Will wear it under long leg SS wettie.
Yeah, the POD harness is great. Have been using it 12 months already and love it.
Somewhere over the past few years all the seat harnesses turned in to these huge nappy looking things (ie, the CMR harness) - they look terrible (which I blame Dunkerbeck for). Nice to have a return to normal sized seat harnesses!
Also, you can wear this harness without the leg straps if you want to get a more 'waist harness' kinda feeling (just tighten the leg straps so they hook on to your @ss and it shouldn't slide up).

Im going to look at putting my NP swivel hook bar on too.
Looks very much like the DaKine Reflex harness, which is on the market for many years and is the best I have had in the last 30 years.
Have found the CMR harness great for when I'm suffering back pain as it has a higher support area. That said, I also have an ION seat that is super low (similar to the POD). For the moderate - fresh cruising days, it's an absolute dream. Oh, and another ION seat harness - because I can! Seriously, what's wrong with me????
