Nice cruisy 4.7 session this morning at Kingston Park, but if you haven't been there for a while, they've begun work on the next stage of the bike / walking path along the foreshore and the carpark spaces in front of the grassy rigging area are now fenced off. There's also a long fenced access to the stair... Could be interesting the next big SW weekender!!

It looks like the new path will follow the old gravel track where crew used to park. Looking at the concept plan that was published a little while back, the whole area will be redeveloped into a range of "facilities" that will be almost unavailable for rigging, I suspect, except, maybe, for the grassy area in front of the "artistic panel screen". Or perhaps the camping ground side will be freed up??

There was a lot of debate re this and the existing Aboriginal Tjilbruke Springs site, but a fair bit of that got damaged with the new stone sea-wall. No one seems to have said anything about water-sports access...

I've attached a pic from the report and a link to the report itself.

Yeah just found the map on council website - goodbye to all that parking - might as well forget trying to get a park during a summer seabreeze

It's going to be rubbish for us. Five bucks says new stairs down to the beach are narrow and high.

At least they won't replace a perfectly good beach access with a 1.5m drop like the council did at Ardrossan. Apparently it now complies with the Australian standard

Says they are going to reduce the car park by 4 spaces make it narrower and get rid of the overflow car park that we all having been using for like 25+ years.
All because the Kaurna tribe don't like it, when was the last time anyone saw any indigenous at the point?
They propose to make a car parking space and link it via a path from Strickland avenue.
Half the problem is caravan park visitors parking a second car in the car park.

The other night on sunday, when we stepped over the caravan park boundary the managers were all over us like **** on a blanket.
I couldn't help but tell him your the 3rd generation of wanna be caravan park nazi who is all over windsurfers but not kids kicking balls, or people walking dogs, as the sign above us clearly said" no windsurfers, no balls sports, no dog"

As he got madder i just kept laughing and laughing, as he told us about his ****ty plants they had planted to try and stop people going over the 1ft high fence. These plants by the way had all but been trampled.
Then he told us how we were interfering with the guests of the caravan park which there were none within 75 metres all the way past the toilet block. By the end i was waiting for some physical push or something. Oh the power of laughing in someones face!!
Small little people with much smaller agendas.
Then the euro wife came in and with her 2bits and told she windsurfed as well, i had to ask when, when do you windsurf, more nazi propaganda!
It's not much difference to the last ex cop caravan park nazi who used to lock the gates of the overflow car park just to spite the windsurfers.

Remeber the days when you could park right at the front and sit in your car and watch everyone sailing.

Goodbye goodtimes and i guess i'll be taking off from the point cause the yacht club option isn't really an option once sailing season hits.

Oh Adelaide how you once again come true with your backward planning and retard council policies.
