Day 2...... CANCELLED
GPS windsurfing comp at Lake George has been cancelled due to the weather forecast.
See you at Nene Valley for Day 3
Wave comp
Dead calm at Beachport at the moment. Slim chance of something late this afternoon but not looking promising.
Hopefully enough at Nene tomorrow.
Thanks for organising it anyway Ty.
Day 3
NENE VALLEY WAVE COMP
Turn right at Nene Valley and follow the road all the way to the beach.
Keep going on the beach until you spot the Starboard tent..
Nice footage of the tow foiling. Hope the wind came up today. Looked like most who ventured in at Nene Valley today were getting some waves. Float and ride not good for a heavyweight like me. It was a bit too light so I decided to go with the big kit. Went to Lake George and some speed runs on the Glass. First time to Nene and first time to the lake. Great options.
Hope you can arrange something again in the future. Shame the wind gods were not playing ball.
Hope the wind came up today at Nene.
Results from today.

We didn't get a result on the lake due to the forecast.
But some of the crew scored it on Sunday and the Monday.
Nicole blasting around
Well done to Ty for organising the weekend. I chose not to float and ride at Nene on Sunday. Lake George had no wind on Friday and Saturday but looked OK for Sunday so I went back there. First time sailing on the "glass" for me. Most sailors had departed so with just 4 others on the water it was great to have plenty of freedom.
Huge thanks to Mark and Maree Jordan for their help and loan of fin and GPS unit plus Adrian for his advice.
Some take aways for me, an average coastal sailor who focuses on waves, but will also have a stab at slalom and down winders:
Mind Blowing - how smooth the water at LG can be with no visible wind chop in places.
Fascinating - the intricacies of kit (especially fins), equipment set up, technique etc.
Unsettling - fanging along in such shallow water.
Intriguing - learning a new, totally alien language of GPS riders.
Addictive - pursuit of stats: top speeds, averages, distances etc.
Managed to register 36 knots, so not bad for first weekend. I'll be back for more
