Yesterday Alastair McLeod became the first sailor to conquer Pedra Branca. Although the swell had dropped from Sundays 8-16m down to 3-5m, it appears Al scored some over double mast waves.
Well done to Al and team from all the Tassie boys for such a big effort in planning and committment. We wait in anticipation to see the final production and images from the trip
I heard he was in Tassie then on Facebook saw a pic of him on a massive wave I knew that wasn't BOL. Mammoth effort Al well done.
Thanks guys - yes was a massive mission. Wind totally died for most of the afternoon but finally came up enough for me to get a few waves before it started to get dark. I looked at the swell buoy was only 4.5m average peaking over 7m. There were some 10m+ bombs coming in so scary to think what it would be like with more swell!
And don't get any ideas Ant of going down & attempting it. Woolworths still needs your lettuces & Prue would be beside herself, but then again she knows what your like
