Keep an eye on the forecast. Bit Early but Carlton was best in a year last week, so dont miss out this Sunday if it happens.
You have to love that picture from FOS , That is Aerial City .
Sunday not sure now, have to make sure swell builds a bit more and wind is on, might be a sneaky two hour period for those who monitor. Forum will let you know.
Monday more a goer.
so we think????
I don't know about big Monday, but the swell and wind gods told me "due to family, commitments,we have post poned Sundays sail for Monday with 25 knots and shoulder high sets".
No word of a lie, that's what they told me to expect.
Just arrived Carlton plenty of wing cross slightly off not much swell sets knee to waste high I'm going out
Just had three hours of smokin' bump'n'jump at Sandy Bay. 45Kn squalls and big chop. Can't go wrong with a 25+ NW!
Looked like a bit of "dog session", though I did witness one reasonable wave ride which ended up with a face plant when the wind gusted offshore. If I had, had my gear with me instead of Jane probably would gone out too. (Jane thought that was unreasonable but hey ??)
Swell has built a little bit overnight so we have waves, nothing like last week unfortunately, but nevertheless waves. If it builds the potential is there for another very good session. Heading down late morning/lunch time.
Looks like a big crew heading down.
Make the time if you can as this could be the last one for a while.
Its windy in Hobart - surface water on the Derwent is lifting as a mist, boats are struggling to return to shore, and the house is now shaking regularly. BOM just recorded a 57 knot gust.
That was one hell of a day....................doesn't get much better
Looks like tomorrow is on again
Well, thought I may as well give a slight report on the north. Windy, windy, still blowing!! Today Clarky and I were out at Greens in winds to 44 knots. I was maxed out on 3.7m and Naish 55lt board. Lots of fast front loops and sh#t scared runs but fun. Few of the other guys went to bakers and on all reports was awesome, apart from one colleague, Mitch who rolled his van on the way but all was ok. I ask him is all ok and he replied "Slowest car roll ever" I mean is he comparing it to a forward!! Just glad to see you were ok 3 hours later Mitch after I sent you the text. Front loop in the Delica!! Not something to try at home ok!!..or anywhere
Highest wind gust at sea level in Tassie (ever?)
And we have a winner folks
Maatsuyker Island hit 185 km today at 4.32 pm which equals
Wait for it ......100knots
A 1,2m sail perhaps
